Sushi enthusiasts might fancy giving WAZUZHI (formerly Wasabi) a whirl. They showcase their cold dishes on a conveyor belt, giving off the vibe of an authentic Japanese sushi chain—and that’s what initially caught our eyes. 

We truly appreciate their unique take on the typical Japanese dining experience. Moreover, we like that their dishes stay covered while on the conveyor, ensuring they remain sealed while on their way to the diners.

We also like that WAUZHI is located at the city centre, so they’re near trams and other public transportations—a plus for accessibility!

It’s also worth mentioning that the tables are arranged right in front of the conveyor, offering less privacy for couples and groups. However, we think it’s a bonus for solo diners because they don’t need to call their staff for assistance every now and then.

According to some of their patrons, their portions may seem modest, but surprisingly filling. Also, many were satisfied about how the ingredients are fresh, and there’s a generous amount for each component.

With this, we can say they offer excellent value for your hard-earned quid.

Finally, we noted that their desserts are a hit with the crowd as well, so if your sweet tooth craves more after the main dish, WAZUZHI has got you covered!

For a chill vibe without burning a hole in your pocket, Samsi might just be the best sushi spot.

First off, they’re right near Gay Village, so getting to their location is pretty accessible via trams or vehicles if you’re in the central district. In our opinion, this makes them perfect for couples and groups.

As for their menu, we love that they’re affordable. Their sashimi goes for around £6.50 to £10.00, which is a proper win for us!

We also appreciate their hefty portions because this means you’ll be satisfied even with just a couple of small plates.

Now, for their service levels, our surveys from their patrons show it’s a hit or miss. Some folks say it dips on busy days, so keep that in mind when booking a table with them.

Additionally, we noted that there’s a lot of complaints about the lack of vegan and vegetarian options. 

From what we’ve seen on the menu, we think that vegans and vegetarians would have a hard time getting something from them. We hope they can provide more options to accommodate the requests of their customers.

In the grand scheme of things, though, they’re still a solid option if you fancy some sushi vibes without splashing the big cash.

Nudo Sushi Box is a go-to spot for fast-food style sushi boxes to grab and go. What we love about them is that their place is spacious and easy to navigate, making it convenient to swing by for a quick bite.

Now, the dining spots are a bit small but clean. From what we’ve seen, they’ve got these high chair stools if you fancy chowing down there, but it’s not the best for diners planning to stay for a couple of hours.

Let’s talk sushi – it might not be the freshest in town, but the portions and choices make up for it. A box set for about £4.99 to £5.99 – a pretty affordable price tag in our books!

According to the patrons we surveyed, Nudo Sushi Box also offers seasonal and limited sushi boxes. We’re impressed to find that these are a crowd favourite, especially during spring and summer season where the ingredients are freshly sourced. 

Now, the service bit – not exactly topping the charts. Most of the regulars we’ve spoken with mentioned that their staff lacks a bit in the attentiveness department, which can somewhat ruin the overall experience.

Despite this, we’re still pretty keen on them for the convenience they offer. Just keep in mind that if the priority is top-notch sushi, there might be better spots out there.

Sushi Marvel excels in delivering an outstanding dining experience. If you’re looking to explore inventive sushi offerings, they might be a good choice for your next sushi run.

After going through their online menu – we love that they offer more than your usual sushi and sashimi options. They even have salmon roe and eel on their menu which is a big plus for us.

Furthermore, their portion sizes and fresh ingredients are also some of their notable traits. We appreciate that this makes them a great value for your money.

Now, space-wise, we found that the place is a bit small, with the overall layout feeling a bit cramped for some. From what we’ve seen, most of their tables can only fit a maximum of four people.

So, this is a good thing to keep for big groups planning to dine in. Calling ahead to reserve a table or two is a wise move to ensure being accommodated.

We just think it’s a bummer that Sushi Marvel doesn’t have any online reservation available.

Overall, we’re still pleased that most of the patrons that we surveyed are happy about their service. Even with the limited space, they hustle to make everyone feel welcome and served up right.

For those who are into pairing sushi with a bit of booze, Sapporo Teppanyaki is an excellent spot offering a proper izakaya experience.

What we love about them is that their sushi offerings are just as popular as their signature teppanyaki. They’ve also got authentic Japanese sake and whisky – another plus in our books.

Most of the regulars we surveyed mentioned that the teppanyaki show makes Sapporo Teppanyaki famous, but surprisingly their sushi is a hit too.

As for their menu, we have to admit it’s a bit on the pricey side. The sushi sharing platter hits £36, making it the priciest one on our list. However, given the hefty portions we still think it’s a good deal overall.

Another thing that we think is worth mentioning is the stellar service from their staff. Many people we surveyed mentioned that they’re not short of attentive and welcoming, adding a nice touch to the whole dining experience.

Here’s the lowdown, though – scoring a reservation can be a bit tricky, especially during the busy seasons. They do offer online bookings that require a deposit, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Even with these quirks, Sapporo Teppanyaki still earns its spot on our list. Their offerings are spot-on for those who want something different for special events.
