Crystal Maze takes 75 minutes to conquer, but you’ll need to set aside just over 2 hours for the whole experience.

This includes a 30-minute window for check-in and orientation before the game kicks off. It’s a small time commitment for an adventure you won’t soon forget!

The Crystal Maze experiences in Manchester and London both offer unique and exciting challenges, but they aren’t mirror images of each other. In Manchester, you’ll encounter mostly different games compared to London, with only a couple overlapping.

Both locations promise an unforgettable time, so you can’t go wrong with either. A word of caution for those tackling the Aztec slide in Manchester: go down one at a time to avoid any potential injuries. Overall, if you’re a fan of the show, both locations are a must-try.

There are a total of 73 games when visiting the Crystal Maze. Both the Futuristic Zone and Industrial Zone have 24 games each, while the Medieval Zone and Eastern Zones have 17 and 8 games respectively.

Best Time to Go

The best time to visit the Crystal Maze Manchester is around mid-morning, preferably on a Wednesday, during the spring season.

This timing allows you to avoid the weekend crowds while still enjoying the maze when it’s freshly set up for the day. Spring offers a pleasant climate, making the experience even more enjoyable.

What to Expect

Ever played at Crystal Maze? Oh, you’ve got to try it! Each zone is like stepping into a whole new world. Picture this: one minute you’re navigating lasers in the uber-cool Futuristic Zone, then you’re cracking riddles in an ancient Mediaeval setting.

And hey, if you’re feeling a bit zen, the Eastern Zone’s got challenges like balancing Yin and Yang. There’s even an Industrial Zone with fun hands-on tasks— ever tried the Reactor Box? It’s a rush!

Honestly, whether you’re a tech junkie, a history buff, or just up for some good old fun, there’s something in there for everyone.

Manchester’s Crystal Maze Live Experience gives you an opportunity to walk through those iconic zones you remember—Aztec, Industrial, Futuristic, and Medieval—and be the star of your own adventure.

Each challenge falls into one of four categories: Physical, Mental, Skill, or Mystery. Conquer these challenges, and you’ll earn those precious Crystals that grant you more time in the Crystal Dome, where you’ll literally try to grab flying golden tickets..

For example, the Aztec Zone features a breathtaking open plain and a towering temple that will make you feel like an intrepid explorer. The Future Zone, on the other hand, takes you to an otherworldly landscape filled with robots and lasers.

Expect to be entertained by the Maze Masters—50 carefully selected personalities ranging from steampunk poets to girl scout leaders with military discipline issues. They’re all set to make your Crystal Maze journey a unique experience you won’t soon forget.

You’ll be walking where legends walked. The Beatles made their first-ever television appearance at the Granada Studios back in 1962. So, while you’re navigating the maze, take a moment to soak in the aura of musical history that permeates the space.

It’s not every day you get to see a giant Aztec Temple, but that’s exactly what awaits you here. The temple isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a key part of the Aztec Zone, elevating the whole experience into something truly memorable.

Love the original Crystal Maze TV show? You’ll find some of the games to be reimagined versions of challenges from the original series.

They manage to capture the nostalgia of the classic show while adding a fresh twist that makes them new and exciting.

Last but not least, the Manchester maze was built on a site that once hosted the Rover’s Return from ‘Coronation Street’.

When you’re running through the Industrial Zone, you’re tracing the steps of some of British television’s most famous characters. It’s an added touch that makes the whole experience truly one-of-a-kind.
