Pros
- Accessible location
- Can fit 1,500 people in the audience
- Good for big artists
Cons
- Has age restrictions
O2 Ritz Manchester stood out to us because of the accessibility of their venue. They are situated at the heart of Whitworth Street, which means that you will not have issues locating the music venue.
Furthermore, on their website, you can also have access to their comprehensive guide to public transportation that you can use to get there. There is also a guide on how you can find parking slots.
With this, we believe that they are a strong choice if you want to prioritize the convenience of your audiences.
When it comes to their capacity, the space can comfortably fit up to 1,500 audiences — making them one of the bigger venues in the area. This is why we weren’t surprised that prominent artists performed here.
Some of the big names that held their concert here are Arctic Monkeys, Future, Gary Numan, and many more.
The only downside is that there are age restrictions that they strictly enforce here. For instance, they don’t allow attendees below the age of eight.
Furthermore, children below eight to thirteen are required to attend with an adult. Therefore, if you intend to host a show that is intended for children, it may be best to check other venues.

Pros
- Historical venue
- Hosted big musical acts and artists
- Available for corporate booking
- Good security team
Cons
- Strict camera policies
Albert Hall has a rich history that makes it an interesting location for music events. It is a Grade II listed Wesleyan chapel that has been hidden for over 40 years. Once it has been renovated as a venue, the grand and ornate chapel was restored to a stunning music hall.
With this, it has become a popular destination for big music acts such as Beck, Sam Smith, Primal Scream, Manic Street Preachers, and many more. Furthermore, it has also been home to many club night artists such as Bongo’s Bingo, La Discotheque, Warehouse Project, and others.
However, what sets them apart is that you may also book them for corporate events. In fact, some of their previous clients are Sony, Boohoo.com and Bruntwood.
We believe that they manage to secure such big clients because of their commendable security. Here, they have an in-house team that will ensure that their safety protocols are strictly observed.
Although, you can still bring your own team if you are more comfortable with that. In case you would go this route, you may request a collaboration between the in-house team as well.
The only drawback is that they don’t allow cameras with a detachable zoom lens. Unfortunately, this has caused issues with some of the audience before.
In case you want to proceed with them as your venue, it would be best to clarify this when promoting your event.

Pros
- Modern and innovative venue
- Good for classical music performers and comedians
- Has atriums where you can host exhibits
Cons
- Does not allow outside drinks on most of their venues
Built in 2017, The Stoller Hall is one of the newer music venues in Manchester. With this, you can expect modern and innovative features in their establishment.
We are impressed that the space is specially-engineered to provide an immersive experience. Here, you can enjoy very low noise levels and a variable acoustic system.
This makes it a perfect choice for orchestra performances since the venue will allow you to hear the music. That’s why we weren’t surprised that most of their events are hosted by classical performers.
Some of the popular performers who have graced their stage are Gwilym Simcock, Sir Mark Elder, and many more. Furthermore, that venue has also been used by comedians like Ted Robbins.
We also like that they have various atriums in their establishment. This can be used as an area where you can showcase exhibits and art collections. This is ideal if you have memorabilia or other items that you want to display as a side attraction during your event.
Another thing that keeps us positive about them is that they have reliable in-house staff members who can assist you from preparation to clean-up. Furthermore, they also have a security team that will ensure your safety throughout.
The only thing that can be an issue is they don’t allow outside drinks in most of their venues. However, there are drinks available in their bar — at a more expensive price.

Pros
- Serves food and drinks
- Accessible location
- Historical venue
- Award-winning venue
Cons
- Inconsistent quality of customer service
If you are looking for a music venue where they serve food and drinks you should consider Band on the Wall. Here, your audience can enjoy your performance while seated at tables as they are served by great staff members.
Since they can cater to up to 500 guests, this is a great venue for acts that go for a more intimate vibe. This is why it’s a popular venue for local artists.
Aside from this, we also give them plus points for the accessibility of their establishment. You will find them at Swan Street where you will have no issues taking both public and private transportation.
We appreciate the rich history of the venue as this is located at the site of many demonstrations during the Industrial Revolution.
Through its centuries of existence, we weren’t surprised to discover that they have received many accolades and recognition along the way. In fact, in 2019 they were awarded Best Venue Team by the Live UK Music Business Awards.
The only downside is that their customer service seems to be hit-or-miss. While there are many commendations from previous guests, we also received reports where some of the doormen were rude to audiences.
Apart from this, we are confident that Band on the Wall is a steady music venue due to its excellent amenities and service.

Pros
- Historical venue
- Has two venues in the establishment
- Good for intimate events
- Has food and drinks available
Cons
- Issues with the cleanliness of the area
Gullivers is another music venue with a rich history since it has been established in 1865. Over the years it’s been a steady venue for popular music acts.
We also like that there are multiple venues within the establishment. Here, there are two distinct live music and performance spaces that you can choose from.
The first one is called the Ballroom and it can cater to up to 110 audiences. On the other hand, the Lounge is a smaller venue that can only hold up to 40 guests.
Both are ideal for music performances as the acoustics are well-designed. Furthermore, we are sure that your guests will appreciate that they can order food and drinks during the show.
In line with this, we’re happy to share that they have a wide variety of drinks in their bar. Additionally, their food is also commendable here,
The only downside is that there have been issues with the cleanliness of the place. For instance, several previous attendees complained about sticky tables and flies in the area.
Despite this, we believe that Gullivers is a great place for those who are looking for a good place to hold intimate events where you can be up close with your audience.
