Pros

  • Has accessible location
  • Has a wide variety of food and drinks
  • Plays Latin music

Cons

  • Requires advanced booking

Revolución de Cuba is a popular establishment located in the heart of Manchester’s city centre on St Peter Street.

One of the standout features of Revolución de Cuba is the wide range of food options available. We appreciate that whether you’re in the mood for a full meal or just some snacks to share with friends, there’s something for everyone here.

Their menu includes Cuban tapas, burgers, burritos, and more. We were also impressed to find that they offer a dietary filter, making it easy for people with food restrictions to find meals that suit them.

In terms of drinks, Revolución de Cuba offers a wide selection of cocktails, including Cuba Libre, Daiquiri, Raspberry Mojito, and many more. The drinks are expertly crafted and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, making for a great experience.

One downside we noted is that booking is required and the reservation time is limited to two hours.

Luckily, there is an easy booking system on their website. On top of this, we also learned that staff members are responsive over the phone as well.

It’s also possible to extend your reservation, but this needs to be communicated to the staff in advance and is subject to availability.

When it comes to music, you can expect to hear Latin beats played by the DJs. Regulars recommend visiting on Wednesdays if you’re interested in salsa.

Pros

  • Good for jazz enthusiasts
  • Has performances from both DJs and live musicians
  • Has affordable food and drinks

Cons

  • Has limited food and drinks selection

The Fitzgerald is a hidden gem in Manchester with its unique blend of live music and jazz-inspired DJs.  We learned that this establishment has become a go-to spot for jazz enthusiasts in the city.

According to their regulars, the venue is intimate and cosy, with dim lighting that sets the mood for a night of great music and good company.

Whether you’re a seasoned jazz aficionado or simply enjoy the genre, this bar is the perfect place to unwind with some great tunes.

In fact, we love that the performers at The Fitzgerald are always happy to oblige when customers make requests, which adds a personal touch to the overall experience.

The selection of affordable food and drinks is impressive, considering the bar’s luxe atmosphere. Even though the menu is not as extensive as some other bars in the area, the quality of the food and drinks is commendable.

Though, for us, one of the standout features of The Fitzgerald is its affordability. The establishment regularly offers promotions like two drinks for only £10 — which is a fantastic deal, especially in a city where drinks can be quite pricey.

On top of this, customers can also book their own booth starting at £50. With this, we think that they will also be a suitable option for those who want to have privacy with their company on a night out.

Pros

  • Located in a Victorian building with beautiful interior design
  • Has private function rooms
  • Offers a variety of DJs and live performers

Cons

  • Can sometimes be slow in serving food and drinks

Lock 91 is a stunning establishment located in a beautiful Victorian building at Century Street. We like its covered brickwork and beams that create an elegant and sophisticated ambience that sets the mood for a great night out.

Upon checking the establishment, we believe that the venue’s stunning backdrop provides a great opportunity for taking photos and videos, which will surely receive many social media engagements.

For those looking for a more intimate celebration, they offer private rooms. We learned that this is popular for birthdays and weddings.

The rooms are well-equipped and provide a cosy and private atmosphere that makes the occasion feel more special – so we give them plus points for that.

When it comes to the attitude of their crew, we heard nothing but praises thanks to their friendly and approachable staff members who are always willing to help.

However, some people we spoke with have mentioned that their orders sometimes take longer than expected. For us, this means Lock 91 might not be ideal for those who want quick refills.

Nevertheless, the quality of the food and drinks is consistent according to their regulars. We believe that the time taken is probably necessary to ensure that customers are served the best quality products.

The music here is diverse and enjoyable, with a variety of live performers and DJs featured on different nights. To ensure that you catch your preferred music genre, it’s best to call in advance to see who is playing on the date of your choice.

Pros

  • Good for big groups
  • Has over a hundred options for drinks
  • Offer cocktail masterclass at an affordable price

Cons

  • Does not offer food

The Liars Club is the perfect spot for big groups of friends or families who have individuals with a specific taste in drinks. With hundreds of cocktails on their menu, we have no doubt that there is something for everyone here.

Their friendly and accommodating bartenders are always willing to help customers find the perfect drink to suit their preferences. We believe that this also makes them ideal for those who want to experiment with unique cocktails.

One thing that makes The Liars Club stand out is the theatrics they provide. We were impressed to learn that some of their drinks are served with fire, which makes the experience even more memorable.

Aside from this, we discovered that they are also known for their regular promotions. Their most popular promotion is their two-for-one offer on drinks.

Additionally, they offer a cocktail masterclass that includes one welcome drink, two cocktails, and a shot for only £25. In our books, this is an affordable and fun activity to bond with friends or family.

One downside to The Liars Club is that they don’t offer food on their menu. With this, we think that it would be best to drop by with a full stomach or plan to eat somewhere else before or after visiting the bar.

Furthermore, while walk-ins are accepted, the bar can be packed at times. Because of this, we recommend booking a reservation in advance to ensure a spot.

Pros

  • Has a unique pawn shop storefront
  • Has bartenders who can personalised orders
  • Offers both a jukebox and a DJ interchangeably

Cons

  • Has more expensive drinks compared to nearby establishments
  • Does not have food in their menu

Dusk Til Pawn is a unique establishment that offers a fun experience for those looking for a different night out. As customers approach the venue, they are greeted with a storefront that resembles a pawn shop – which is unlike any other in the area.

Another standout feature of Dusk Til Pawn is their ever-changing selection of cocktails. This is perfect for those who want to try something new and exciting every time they visit.

Furthermore, we commend their bartenders for being knowledgeable and always willing to cater to special requests.

In fact, we were delighted to learn that there are regulars who have been visiting Dusk Til Pawn for years due to their warm and welcoming customer service.

When it comes to music, we noticed that they offer a unique fusion of nostalgia and modern appeal, since they have both a DJ and a jukebox that provides music interchangeably—pretty nifty, eh?

However, the downside here is that their prices are considerably higher than other bars in the area, which may be a deal-breaker for some. Especially when we compared it to promotions ongoing in nearby establishments.

Additionally, also don’t serve food so it would be best to find another place to eat before or after drinking.

Pros

  • Has a unique setup where the events place is at the basement
  • Offers a wide range of affordable food and drinks
  • Has friendly and helpful staff members

Cons

  • The event place has an entrance fee
  • Advanced booking of tickets is highly recommended

Retro is an establishment at Sackville Street that offers a unique experience for music enthusiasts. It stood out to us because the bar is located on the ground floor while their basement is transformed into an events place where different musical acts like bands and DJs perform.

One of the positive features of Retro is their calendar of lineups that they update in real-time. This makes it easy for people to plan and know which musical acts or events they would like to attend.

Aside from musical acts, we appreciate that they also host open mic events for poets and comedians, making it a great venue for different types of artists.

While entrance to the bar is free, tickets need to be purchased to watch their shows. On top of this, we also advise booking your tickets in advance since the place can be packed at times.

However, their regular customers mentioned that the sound system is high-quality, the crowd is friendly, and the shows are always a good time — so we think it’s worth the try.

When it comes to the bar, customers are also happy with their wide selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices. Although most of them mentioned that they didn’t really stay at the bar for a long time since most of them come here to party in the basement.

Another positive thing about this bar is their helpful staff members. One disabled customer who was in a wheelchair was delighted by how the crew assisted them, which shows that they care about the comfort and satisfaction of their customers.

Pros

  • Has a wide selection of food and drinks
  • Hosts various DJs and other musical acts

Cons

  • Has inconsistent customer service

We like Blues Kitchen for their wide selection of food, making them an ideal spot for those who want to have a heavy meal before partying.

They are known for their BBQs, such as baby back ribs and hot smoked rib eye steak. But their customers mentioned that their burgers like the bacon double smashburger and hot chicken buffalo sandwich are also worth the try.

We also give them plus points for having a vegan cheeseburger on their menu. It’s nice that they’re pretty inclusive!

For those who are looking for something light, they offer buffalo wings starting at £8.75, which may be more expensive compared to other establishments.

However, we found that they have big portions, so we suggest sharing them with a friend–especially if you want to save a few pounds.

When it comes to their events, we like that they host various DJs and other musical acts. They have a calendar available on their website that can be used as a reference, making it easy for people to plan ahead.

Unfortunately, there are mixed reviews when it comes to their customer service.

We felt quite iffy about their service since there were instances where customers felt as if the crew were being rude and disrespectful.  Although others we spoke to said that  they were just being strict to ensure peace and safety in the bar and the events area.

Pros

  • Has a cosy and vintage vibe
  • Features various DJs that plays a mix  of modern and classic songs
  • Has commendable customer service

Cons

  • Requires advanced bookings

Flok is a cosy and vintage bar that is definitely worth visiting. We like that this establishment offers a wide variety of food and drinks, with the most popular orders being their various beers and ales.

We learned that its regulars often come here to enjoy good music as well as the friendly atmosphere, and we can definitely see why! Flok usually has a DJ who plays a fun mix of popular modern songs and all-time favourites.

On top of this, the interior is simple and homey, which makes it ideal for customers who want to feel like they are chilling with a good drink in their own house — minus the clean-up afterwards.

But what really makes them stand out are their staff members who are friendly and accommodating. They are known to go above and beyond to assist their guests.

For instance, a young girl requested a mocktail, and even though it was not on the menu, the bartender customised an order for her.

It’s important to note that bookings are required at Flok, so it would be best to plan your night out ahead of time. Although, according to our research, customers appreciate this system since it ensures that they will have a seat when they arrive.

Pros

  • Has a Tokyo-inspired decor and menu
  • Has a wide selection of unique drinks
  • Good for youngsters who want to dance and party

Cons

  • Has expensive cocktails
  • Not ideal for those who want to have a quiet night out

Lost In Tokyo is a unique establishment that offers customers a taste of Tokyo without having to leave Manchester.

From the moment you enter, you will be greeted by beautifully decorated lanterns and other Japanese-inspired decorations that will transport customers to another world.

One of the great things about Lost In Tokyo is that they offer both beverages and food at their bar, which is perfect for customers who want to enjoy a night out while dining and drinking.

However, for us, what really sets them apart is their exciting selection of unique cocktails.

Upon speaking with some of their regulars, we found that they come here to experience some of the most creatively mixed drinks they have ever tasted.

From what we’ve tried, we highly recommend ordering the Hadouken cocktail, which is made from mango and chilli-infused olmeca with lime, agave, and salt.

Another must-try drink is their Kung Fu Collins, which is made from St. Germain elderflower liqueur, Hendricks, sugar, lime, kiwi, apple, and mint. Both drinks are quite expensive at £8, but with their unique mix of flavours, we believe that they are worth the try.

It’s important to note that this bar is known to be a hotspot for youngsters who love to dance and party to blasting music played by their DJs. If you’re looking for a more quiet night, it would be best to explore other bars in the area.

Pros

  • Offers a New York City vibe
  • Has a wide cocktail, and wine menu
  • Offers unique cocktails

Cons

  • Does not have a food menu
  • Advanced booking is recommended to secure entrance

Noho is a vibrant establishment in Manchester that offers a unique New York City nightlife experience. By day, it may look nothing like a large graffiti-shuttered building, but by night, it comes to life with lively music and unique drinks.

Upon checking the venue, we think that the interior is stunning. It has original parquet flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a perfect backdrop for photos and videos.

Their cocktail menu is diverse, and we suggest that first-time visitors should try their Pop Tart cocktail. It is made from rum, caramel, and popcorn and is sure to surprise anyone who tries it for the first time, according to regulars.

Another must-try drink is the Berried Alive, which is great for those who’re looking for a caffeine boost on their night out. We learned that this is made from vodka, raspberry, and coffee.

The bar also offers wines such as White Pinot Grigio and Red Merlot  — so we give them plus points for that.

One downside of Noho is that it does not have a food menu, so it would be best to grab a bite to eat elsewhere before heading to the bar.

Additionally, the bar can be quite packed during peak hours. We think it’s best to reserve a slot days in advance to secure entrance.
