Tast Catala is an upscale restaurant located in the heart of Manchester. In fact, it’s only a 3-minute walk away from the John Rylands Library – making it an accessible restaurant for those who are strolling in the area.

This restaurant caught our attention because it has gained a reputation for attracting celebrity customers. Its regulars report that professional football manager Pep Guardiola has dined there!

We were impressed with the stunning Japanese-inspired interior, complete with video walls showcasing beautiful landscapes, which creates a unique dining experience.

According to our research, the cost of opening this restaurant was three million pounds – gobsmacking, innit?  We believe that this is truly a great option for those who want to have a luxurious dining experience.

The menu at Tast Catala is inspired by the flavours of Catalonia, with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. We learned that the menu includes tastets, charcoal dishes, rice dishes, and desserts.

According to their customers, some of the must-try dishes include Catalan Duroc Pork Sausage and Catalan Style Rice cooked in a charcoal oven.

However, we received mixed reviews on the quality of the food. While some customers loved the taste, others did not—with this, we recommend trying Tast Catala for yourself to decide. 

The Ivy is a restaurant that catches attention due to its prime location. Situated at The Pavilion, we believe that finding this restaurant will not be an issue. 

Notably, the restaurant’s atmosphere is also worth mentioning. We were impressed that despite being in the city centre, diners can enjoy lush green surroundings, which adds to the restaurant’s appeal.

It’s no wonder why it attracted celebrities like that television and radio presenter, Jenny Powell. Breakfast Clubbers can certainly find something to eat here since The Ivy serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

When it comes to food quality, their regular customers shared that they are pleased with the dishes that are served here. The Pollo Con Polenta, a pan-fried chicken with creamy polenta, comes highly recommended.

For those with dietary restrictions, we like that they have vegan and vegetarian dishes on their menu. Their accommodating chef can make changes to the dishes to accommodate specific requests and allergies — which is a plus!

However, the restaurant can be uncomfortable on hot days. According to some diners, certain areas within the restaurant lack air conditioning, which can be inconvenient. 

On top of this, we also gathered reports where the servers came across as impolite to their guests. However,  this is not the case for most diners, so we still think that this restaurant is definitely worth a try.

Tast Catala is a unique restaurant that offers a mix of Japanese and Mexican cuisine. We believe that this makes it a good option for those who are looking for something different to try. 

Moreover, it is suitable for those who will dine in big groups since they have a lot of sharing plates available. We also believe that the restaurant is an ideal place to celebrate special occasions with friends and family.

However, it is important to note that they charge a fee for those who wish to bring their own cake and advance booking is required for big tables. Despite this, we like that booking can easily be done through their website and over the phone.

When it comes to their menu, they have a wide selection that includes breakfast, a la carte, and set menu. We like that they also have a vegan and gluten-free menu, making it a good option for those with dietary restrictions.

Regulars have recommended first-timers to try the Hibachi Experience. According to our research, for £85, diners can enjoy meals from the restaurant’s Japanese signature dishes.

The meal ends with a dessert called Karupiko which is made of yoghurt, white chocolate mousse with goma sponge, and Calpico sorbet – delicious!

Regular customers rave about the restaurant’s lunch and later options, particularly the Vada Pau at £5.90. On top of this, they also have vegetarian food options — so we give them plus points for that.

Furthermore, one can also spot celebrities like the singer Ed Sheeran dining here — making the view even more posh. But Dishoom isn’t a club or a bar, if you catch our drift.

Although, the atmosphere at Dishoom is warm and inviting, with a mix of vintage decor and modern touches that create a unique and stylish vibe. 

We also like that the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and always happy to make recommendations or answer any questions. This is great for those who may not be familiar with Indian dishes. 

Their 12.5% service fee is added to the final bill of the guest, which makes the dining experience here significantly more expensive. However, we learned that this can be waived if the guests feel like the staff members didn’t live up to their standards.

One thing to note is that the restaurant can get quite busy, particularly during peak hours, so it’s best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

San Carlo is a renowned Italian restaurant in King Street that offers an exceptional dining experience. Here, you will often see celebrities like the wrestler, Hulk Hogan.

The restaurant is always buzzing with activity and has a vibrant and lively atmosphere. We believe that this is because of its classic and elegant interior with dim lighting, making it a perfect spot for a romantic date or a celebratory dinner with friends and family.

We also like that the restaurant offers a wide range of authentic Italian dishes. And according to their regulars, the quality of the food is excellent.

They added that the seafood and pasta dishes are must-try. On top of this, we also learned the portions are generous, which somehow justifies the expensive cost of dining here. 

Furthermore, the restaurant also has an extensive drink menu that pairs perfectly with the food – so we give them plus points for that.

Additionally, we commend that the staff is knowledgeable about the menu and is always happy to offer recommendations.

However, as mentioned, one thing to note is that the prices here can be quite high. 

Some guests also shared that the restaurant can also get quite noisy, particularly during peak hours. So it may not be the best choice for those looking for a quiet and intimate dining experience.

We also recommend booking a table in advance if you want to secure a table.

Menagerie is a glamorous and extravagant restaurant on New Bailey Street. We like that it offers an opulent dining experience – in fact, it served as a venue for a Little Mix afterparty! 

According to their regulars, the restaurant boasts a luxurious and stylish interior, with plush seating, chandeliers, and gold accents. One of the most notable things about Menagerie is its lively and energetic atmosphere.

Unfortunately, we received mixed reviews when it comes to their servers and other staff members. Most of the guests have nothing but praise.

However, some shared that they left the restaurant before receiving their food because some of the employees were dismissive and unprofessional.

Nell’s Pizza is a small pizzeria located on Oldham Street. When we asked their regulars, they all agreed that this place serves some of the best pizza in the city.

MNKY HSE is a Latin American restaurant that is conveniently located at Lloyd Street. The restaurant has become a popular dining spot for locals and visitors alike, attracting a trendy and diverse crowd that includes celebrities. 

Love Islands stars such as Danica Taylor and Natalia Zoppa are some of the popular diners in this restaurant! But you can’t dip your carrots in hummus here, since MNJY HSE doesn’t have that dish!
