We appreciate CrossFit Didsbury because they provide CrossFit training for students at any level. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a complete beginner, they have a spot for you here.

According to our surveys, there’s a strong sense of community here. More advanced students assist beginners, making them ideal for newbies who might be anxious about getting started.

Aside from commendable senior students, they also boast impressive trainers such as Patrick Claffey who is both a gym owner and a coach. He boasts over 20 years of experience in the industry and ensures top-notch training.

Furthermore, interested participants will have no issues getting started as they offer a free intro class for everyone.

However, we did encounter a downside. Although they’re open every day, we noticed that they close early on Sundays, which can be limiting for those who want to work out during the weekends.

Nevertheless, we like that they’re conveniently located within five minutes from the public transportation stop at Withington. With this, students will have no issues dropping by whether they take public or private transportation.

Pros

  • Inclusive for all levels
  • Strong community sense
  • Impressive trainers
  • Free intro class
  • Accessible location

Cons

  • Early closing on Sundays

Great gym

“Such a great gym in Didsbury! Joined last November and have seen so much progress. Would recommend to anybody at any stage of their fitness journey. Worth every penny, and the regular gym is included too!”

Joe Spence, Google Review

Great atmosphere

“A fantastic gym with great members and coaches. I’ve recently moved to Didsbury and Crossfit Didsbury was the first place I visited, I was given a free session and joined soon after, the atmosphere is always great and you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable workout. Everyone is so friendly, couldn’t recommend this gym enough. And the best part is that you get access to their RxGym as well which is rare to find with other crossfit boxes!”

Train CrossFit stood out to us for their personalised approach to CrossFit. We received plenty of feedback about coaches who take their time to understand the needs of their students and set realistic goals for each one.

With this in mind, we strongly recommend them to those who have specific objectives they want to achieve through CrossFit.

We’re also impressed to learn that one of their coaches, Paul Warburton, currently ranks 733rd in the world for CrossFit.

On top of this, we noted that they’re conveniently located near a public transportation stop, just a 5-minute walk from Hulme Hall Road. This accessibility is a definite plus for those who rely on public transport.

However, we’re a bit concerned that they open late during weekdays. If you’re an early bird, you might want to check out other options.

Another downside is that they don’t offer free introductory classes like some other gyms in the area. Nonetheless, with the quality of their trainers, we believe they’re a worthy investment.

Pros

  • Personalised approach
  • Notable coaches
  • Accessible location
  • Open every day

Cons

  • Late opening on weekdays
  • No free introductory classes

We trust that CrossFit 3D is one of the best places for beginners, thanks to their patient trainers. According to our research, the staff members here carefully break down the training plan so students won’t be overwhelmed with their workouts.

Furthermore, for those hesitant to get started, we’re happy to share that they’re among the more generous gyms in the area as they offer a free 30-day trial — a great opportunity to experience their training without any commitment, right?

Additionally, they’re accessible with only a six-minute walk from the public transportation stop at Akzo Nobel. We learned that they also have ample parking space for those who prefer to bring their own vehicle.

Another notable aspect of their accessibility is their early opening hours every day. We highly recommend them for those who want to squeeze in a workout before heading to school or work but do keep in mind they also close early.

Finally, we’re impressed with the trainers here. For instance, Mike Aka Madders has been coaching people to get fit and healthy for over 18 years, from one-on-one sessions to group training — so students can be assured that they’re in capable hands.

Pros

  • Great for beginners
  • Free 30-day trial
  • Accessible location
  • Ample parking space

Cons

  • Closes early

RxGym comes highly recommended for those struggling with motivation. We’ve spoken to some of their regulars, who shared that the trainers inspire them to come to gym on schedule since the trainers lead in being disciplined and committed.

Furthermore, we discovered that the sense of community here is strong. Students even check on each other regularly to help everyone attain their goals.

Aside from this, we also appreciate that they offer holistic fitness programmes that include nutrition coaching. This allows customers to have a diet that complements their CrossFit training.

Accessibility also won’t be an issue here as they’re conveniently located a five-minute walk away from the Withington stop. Additionally, we’re impressed that they open early and close late every day — giving their patrons plenty of time to drop by.

Sadly, they don’t offer free introductory classes. However, we commend that they offer free consultations with one of their coaches, which is also useful for those having issues getting started.

Pros

  • Motivational trainers
  • Strong sense of community
  • Nutrition coaching
  • Convenient location
  • Early opening and late closing hours

M Squared Fitness offers the widest variety of CrossFit in the area. We’re impressed to learn that, aside from regular CrossFit, they also offer endurance, weightlifting, and gymnastics.

What further impressed us is that they also provide CrossFit for children. We think this makes them ideal for parents who want their children’s fitness journey to start early.

They’re also conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Leestone Road, so trainees will have no issues dropping by. We appreciate that they close late on weekdays — giving customers time to work out after school, work, or other responsibilities.

However, we’re a bit hesitant about their weekend hours, as they’re only operational in the mornings.

And they don’t offer a free introductory class either. On top of this, their Unlimited Membership has a 3-month lock-in at £100 per month (which we think can be binding, but is ideal for those who want to commit).

Otherwise, we recommend going for their Beginners Course at £60 which comes with two 90-minute sessions of CrossFit.

Pros

  • Wide variety of CrossFit options
  • Child-friendly programs
  • Convenient location
  • Late closing on weekdays

Cons

  • Limited weekend hours
  • No free introductory class
  • 3-month lock-in membership

Excellent

“I have been a member of M Squared for 3 years and I cannot recommend it enough. The facilities are great, the kit is excellent, the coaching is first rate and the community is fantastic. The gym is open again after lockdown and the safety measures that have been put in place are so impressive. Everyone can workout at a safe distance but it so nice to be working out in a class with people again.”

Chris G, Google Review

Knowledgeable trainers

“Fantastic gym lead by an awesome team of really knowledgeable trainers. They clearly care about their users and seeing them improve and get better. If you’re looking for an amazing (and challenging!) Crossfit gym then M Squared is the one for you”
