Pros

  • Excellent service levels
  • Great dining ambience
  • Wide range of offerings available
  • Offers pet menu

Cons

  • Inconsistent food quality
  • Usually crowded even on off-days

BrewDog Manchester quickly became one of our favourite places to grab a pint with our fur babies for several good reasons.

First, we love their attentive and friendly staff that’s also knowledgeable about the craft beer scene as well as being dog lovers themselves.

Next, BrewDog Manchester has a pet-friendly policy, complete with a dedicated menu for furry companions!

We think that this adds a nice flair to the overall ambience because patrons can have a pint with their four-legged friend by their side, knowing they’ll be treated to their special goodies and snacks.

But, there’s a bit of a catch: We’re a bit iffy that, while BrewDog Manchester excels in the realm of craft beer, the same cannot always be said for its food offerings.

After trying out their multiple locations we’ve noticed that there are inconsistencies in the quality of dishes, which can be disappointing at times.

We also must note that despite its spacious layout, BrewDog Manchester tends to attract crowds, even on off days.

The way we see it, this can lead to long wait times for tables and a bustling atmosphere that may not be conducive to pets who are sensitive to crowds.

That said, even though BrewDog Manchester has some drawbacks to them, we still think they offer a unique experience that is sure to delight both beer lovers and fur parents alike.

Pros

  • Wide range of menu offerings available
  • Affordable pricing
  • Great ambience
  • Offers pet-sitting services

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer pet menus
  • Records of inconsistent service levels

The Bay Horse Tavern on Thomas Street is a great choice for fur parents looking for pet-sitting services while enjoying their meals.

Here are several reasons that make them stand out in our books:

First, The Bay Horse Tavern has a pet-friendly policy, complete with pet-sitting services. We love that patrons can enjoy their meal or drinks with peace of mind, knowing that their furry companion is in good hands while they dine.

Second, we appreciate the rustic yet stylish decor, complete with exposed brick walls and vintage furnishings, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to relax and unwind.

They also boast an extensive menu that caters to a variety of tastes and preferences. From hearty pub classics to innovative seasonal dishes, there’s something for every palate.

Finally, we’re impressed that even with its central location and charming ambience, its prices remain wallet-friendly. We think this makes them a popular choice for budget-conscious diners looking to enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank.

But, despite its many charms, we do have to mention that some patrons have noted the absence of dedicated pet menus.

While this may not be a deal-breaker for most, we still think it can be a minor issue that they can improve upon.

Pros

  • Wide range of offerings available
  • Offers water and treats for pets
  • Located near the city centre

Cons

  • Offerings are a bit expensive
  • Records of inconsistent service levels
  • Usually crowded even on off days

At The Refuge, variety is the spice of life, and this is exactly what we got after visiting them.

The first thing that impressed us about The Refuge is their impressive array of delightful dishes, cocktails and even Sunday roasts.

From what we’ve seen, their roasts are a crowd favourite—and we couldn’t agree more after trying it. Also, they offer sets for small and large groups, and even individual diners, which is a big plus in our books!

What impressed us even further is that they also offer complimentary water and treats for pets. We think that this thoughtful gesture adds an extra layer of hospitality that sets them apart from the rest.

On the downside, we’re a bit disappointed with their prices, as their entrees start at £9.50 which can quickly add up to around £35 to £40. They’re definitely not the spot for the budget-conscious.

Additionally, finding a quiet corner at The Refuge can be a challenge, even on off-days. Thanks to their popularity, the place tends to buzz with activity, making for lively—but sometimes loud—dining vibes.

Nonetheless, even with these slight issues, we think The Refuge is still a solid choice for those who want to splurge on their day out with their pups.

Pros

  • Lively and welcoming ambience
  • Serves hefty portions
  • Highly praised food quality
  • Offers designated dog tables

Cons

  • Some reports of poor service
  • Reservations are required for dog tables

Albert’s Schloss is actually one of the most popular restaurants in the city because of their delicious food and lively atmosphere. Imagine our surprise when we found out that they’re a dog-friendly establishment too!

Upon visiting them with our furry pals, we were further impressed to find that they’ve got designated dog tables. This means customers enjoy their meal while their pups lounge in style.

But here’s the scoop: snagging one of these primo pup spots requires a bit of planning ahead. So, for customers who are swinging by with their canine companion, be sure to reserve one of these special tables in advance.

As for their menu, we want to highlight that their dishes consistently hit the mark every time. We were glad to find a variety of options, from comfort foods and grazing boards to an array of cocktails, beers and wines!

Additionally, we love that their portions are as big as their flavours, ensuring customers leave satisfied and maybe even with some leftovers for later.

On the other hand, we noted that the service levels get mixed reviews from their regulars.

While the staff are friendly and accommodating, there are records of some patrons who were turned away by the bouncers, specifically during their late hours when their bar is open. We think this can dampen an otherwise positive dining experience.

In a nutshell, Albert’s Schloss is still a solid choice given their great overall track record and popularity, which is why we think they’re still worth a visit.

Pros

  • Affordable prices on their dishes
  • Serves big portions
  • Friendly and accommodating staff

Cons

  • Limited menu offerings
  • No designated spaces for pets

The Oast House stood out to us because of their laid-back atmosphere and affordable grub that doesn’t compromise on quality.

We also appreciate that they have an outdoor dining that is welcoming to diners with furry companions. That said, we also appreciated that their outdoor space is well-maintained despite it being a pet-friendly environment.

As for the menu offerings, we’re impressed to find that The Oast House doesn’t skimp on portion sizes. Our group loved their savoury mains and indulgent desserts!

We ordered their cheeseburger, which on paper doesn’t sound too inviting but after trying it out, it was definitely one of the best burgers we’ve had in a while. Also, we heard great things about their crispy halloumi kebab which did not disappoint.

That said, we did notice that their offerings are a bit limited. With a focus on classic pub fare, the options may feel repetitive for those seeking more diverse or adventurous culinary choices.

On a positive note, their friendly and accommodating staff made us feel so welcome, adding a fantastic vibe to our dining experience.

Overall, The Oast House is a solid option for pet lovers looking for a quick drink on days when the sun’s out.
