Fire Protection Services Northwest (FPS) has been offering fire safety services in the Greater Manchester area since 2008. That’s nearly two decades of experience!

However, we understand FPS can get quite busy, so it isn’t surprising that some clients have experienced delays or less-than-perfect service. We just hope that the company consistently improves on that front.

If you’re looking for a company that sells fire extinguishers wholesale, then Express Fire Equipment might be a fit. This family-run business by the M60 has been supplying Manchester and the rest of the UK with top fire extinguisher brands since 2001.

Its customer service is responsive, with friendly agents to assist. The pickup and delivery service is decent, too, making ordering in bulk a smooth process.

One downside is that Express Fire Equipment solely focuses on sales and nothing else. It doesn’t do fire risk assessments or annual servicing for extinguishers—you’ll need to tap a different provider for these.

Still, being a wholesaler comes with perks, like a high level of personalisation. Printing  company or brand logos directly on the canisters is one thing they do that other services don’t.

As for disposal, the company sometimes does it itself, otherwise it refers clients to other firms to get it sorted.

For a more personalised level of service, have a go at Heytor Fire Protection. Albeit only with a little over 10 years under its belt, it handles the sales, servicing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and safety gear for homes and businesses.

What stands out most is Heytor’s affordability. There’s a free site survey, as expected, but the rates it gives customers are just value for money.

The company also builds great rapport with clients and offers thoughtful, customer-centred service. One of its key team members, Chris, is a genuinely friendly bloke who’s always upbeat and a pleasure to deal with. 

We’re especially impressed by Heytor’s prompt response times and how it notifies clients in advance when their extinguishers are due for annual checks. That deep attention to detail saves everyone from hassle!

We recommend Heytor for small to medium-sized businesses, since we see its services seem to shine most in these types of clientele.

This family-owned business promises to work with clients to provide suitable fire safety solutions, regardless of whether the property is residential or commercial. We especially appreciate the free quotation and its adherence to the BS 5306 standard.

With over 20 years in the industry, it’s no wonder Raydaw has built a solid reputation. However, we’ve come across the occasional negative review about slow revert times and inconsistent service quality over the years—pretty typical, but good to know.

That said, we still recommend giving Raydaw a call, especially if you’re based in Salford, where its office is located. It also covers the rest of Manchester and northwestern UK.
