Pros
- Great customer service
- Impressive hygienic practices
- Relaxing ambience
Cons
- Records of inconsistent service levels
- Walk-ins are not usually welcomed
Nails by Yulia Hamilton has been in the nail scene for fourteen years, and we think that speaks volumes when it comes to their impressive track record.
From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted with a warmth that’s as comforting as a freshly brewed cuppa. We love that this elevates the overall nail sessions for nail aficionados!
Additionally, in a world where cleanliness is next to godliness, their facilities do take the crown. During our visit, we were impressed that their stringent hygienic practices would put even the most germaphobic individual at ease.
We just have to mention their prices are a bit higher than average. Their manicure and pedicure services are priced at around £49 which we think won’t be considered affordable for a lot of people.
As for their service levels, we appreciate how detailed and attentive they are when it comes to our requests.
That said, we were a bit disappointed to find that some of their previous customers weren’t as thrilled during their session. In our opinion, this can turn off some potential customers who are looking for consistent service levels throughout their nail care journey.
Furthermore, for customers who are into spontaneity, we have to note that Nails by Yulia Hamiltonsky operates primarily on an appointment basis, meaning walk-ins have a low chance of being accepted.
Despite these considerations, we still think they’re a great pick overall for what they offer and their reputation is a testament to that.

Pros
- Clean and relaxing ambience
- Skilled nail technicians
- Near city centre
Cons
- Higher rates than the market average
- Limited availability during weekends
Our team has a lot of nail lovers and that’s why accessibility is one of the major factors that we considered when we chose to visit Janea Nails & Beauty.
First off, this boutique nail salon promises an experience that’s both indulgent and Instagram-worthy, which is what we love about them.
Think: soft lighting, soothing music, and relaxing scents that you’d swear you were in a spa. We’re impressed that their facilities create a haven where you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
But it’s not just the ambience that’s top-notch; it’s the skilled nail technicians that are also something we have to commend.
When we popped in, we were pleasantly surprised by how the nail technicians not only listened attentively to our requests but also ensured that we felt completely at ease throughout the session.
However, as with most things, here are a few bumps that we have to mention.
For one, while Janea Nails & Beauty delivers in quality, it also comes with a heftier price tag than your average nail salon.
Their basic manicure and pedicures cost £40 which is a bit steep in our opinion. We think this can be a deal-breaker for those on a tight budget.
And let’s not forget about availability – or lack thereof – during the weekends. While the weekdays might offer a lot of slots to choose from, the weekends can be a bit of a challenge.
That said, with what they offer, we still think Janea Nails & Beauty is still a solid choice for those who don’t want to travel far for a quick nail pampering session.

Pros
- Great track record in nail services
- Wide range of services
- Affordable pricing
Cons
- Few nail services offered
- Other services aren’t as good as their nail services
We’re always in pursuit of pristine digits without breaking the bank, and Lilly Nail and Beauty Salon offer us just that—and this is also the first thing we love about them. Their gel nail services start at around £22, which is a steal in our books!
Furthermore, we also appreciate that they’re near the city centre, which makes it convenient for nail lovers like us to make it to appointments with them.
That said, it’s worth noting a caveat about them. While their nail services are the stuff of dreams, the same can’t quite be said for their other offerings.
According to some of the clients we’ve talked to, their facials are a bit lacklustre, and their massages are considered a tad mediocre.
For us, it seems that Lilly Nail and Beauty Salons talents lie firmly within the realm of nail artistry.
What kept us positive about them, though, was their excellent service levels and hygiene standards.
We loved that the nail technicians took the time to understand each client’s preferences and ensured a comfortable experience throughout.
Furthermore, we also observed that their tools are properly sterilised along with their workstations. We think these deserve plus points especially when getting our nails done.
Overall, we still think Lilly Nail and Beauty Salon ticks the boxes when it comes to getting a great experience, especially for those who love the upkeep that comes with having pretty tips and toes.

Pros
- Great atmosphere
- Exceptional customer service
- Wide range of treatments and services
- Affordable pricing
Cons
- Limited availability during peak seasons
- Lacklustre ambiance
We found it interesting that Bella Spa started in Manchester in late 2010 as a family-run business. Now they’ve bloomed into one of the city’s most popular destinations for pampering.
We ourselves were impressed by the sheer variety of services that they offer for nail aficionados. Their extensive range of treatments and services cater to every nail need imaginable and we love that about them.
Furthermore, their affordability is also worth noting. Basic manicure and pedicure services start at £20, while their most popular offering, the Shellac/Gelish Hot Stone Spa Pedicure, is priced at £89.
That said, there are some downsides to them. One is their lack of availability during peak seasons. We think it’s wise to plan ahead and book in advance to steer clear of any letdowns.
Additionally, while the atmosphere at Bella Spa is pleasant, some may find that the ambience could be improved to enhance the overall experience.
During our visit, we couldn’t help but notice that the atmosphere at Bella Spa felt a bit lacklustre and lacked the overall relaxing vibe we were hoping for.
While ambience can be subjective, compared to other establishments we’ve frequented, it fell a tad short in terms of creating a truly soothing environment.
All things considered, Bella Spa still gets a thumbs-up from us for offering a full-on pampering experience, not just for nail fanatics. So, they’re definitely holding onto their spot on our list.

Pros
- Lovely interiors
- Good track record
- Wide range of nail services
- Affordable prices
Cons
- Records of inconsistent service levels
- A bit far from the city centre
We’re firm believers of first impressions and Create & Coat delivers just that.
We appreciate their tastefully decorated interiors, complete with plush seating and soft lighting. For us, this positively adds to the overall experience.
Additionally, we were also further impressed by the wide variety of nail services that they offer, which merits bonus points for them.
During our visit, we also loved that their staff and technicians made us feel welcomed while being attentive to our requests. Sadly we can’t say the same from some of their previous clients.
According to those we’ve talked to, some folks mentioned their nails didn’t last as long as they’d hoped, or the final look wasn’t what they expected. Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning.
Another thing we’re a bit iffy about is their location. Create & Coat is located within the Northern Quarter with only a handful of tram stops nearby.
We think this might be a bit of a hassle for anyone not in the immediate area.
That said, we’re still positive about them because of their affordable prices. Their basic manis and pedis costs around £20 which is one of the most affordable price ranges on our list.
Furthermore, we also appreciate that customers can make their own packages that will suit their nail needs. We think this makes them perfect for nail lovers who don’t mind commuting farther from the city centre.
