- Offers masterclasses
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Requires documents for entry
Lola Lo in Manchester is a great spot for students looking for a unique and affordable night out. The bar is located at Deansgate, making it an ideal place for those who want to go bar hopping.
We like that the tiki-themed interior and drinks offer a unique vibe that you won’t find elsewhere in the city. The drinks are affordable, starting at just £8.95, which is another great news for students who are on a budget.
One of the best things about this club is that they offer low-calorie and non-alcoholic options, making it a great spot for those who may have classes the following day.
They also offer masterclasses which are a great alternative for nights when students don’t feel like partying. This diverse offerings is a plus in our books!
The operating hours at Lola Lo are another highlight, as they are open until 3:00 am, giving students plenty of time to dance the night away. However, it’s worth noting that the club is not operational on Sundays, unlike some other nightclubs in the area.
When it comes to entry requirements, Lola Lo requires a valid, in-date passport or driving licence. Some events may also require a student ID card, so it’s worth double-checking before heading out.

Pros
- Has an accessible location
- One of the longest-running clubs in the area
- Has commendable customer service
Cons
- Operational on Saturdays only
- Requires tickets
Funkademia is located at the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. We think this is great news for students who are looking for accessible clubs!
We think it’s notable that the bar hires commendable DJs that energise the crowd, making it a great place to enjoy music and dancing.
On top of this, Funkademia has been around for more than four decades — making them one of the longest-running ones in the area. Impressive, right?
It has been playing soul, funk, disco, hip-hop, R&B, and big house classes for generations of students. This means that the bar has a well-established reputation for providing great music and entertainment to students.
One thing we must note is that Funkademia is only operational on Saturdays, unlike some other clubs that are open almost every day of the week. It would be best to consider other clubs if you want to party on a different day.
Additionally, tickets are required at the entrance, so it is best to book in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Luckily, their online booking is convenient!
We like how their website is always up-to-date with their events line-up, making it easy for interested attendees to find acts that they’re interested in.

Pros
- Has a unique and meaningful history
- Has commendable musical acts
- Has an updated calendar with the line-up of their performers
Cons
- Requires ticket for entry
- Closed on Sundays
We have no doubts that FAC251 in Manchester is a great spot for students who want to enjoy good music and a memorable night out. We learned that the bar has a unique history as it was the birthplace of Factory Records.
This Manchester-based British independent record label was started in 1978 by Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus.
We were impressed when we discovered that they featured several prominent musical acts on its roster, such as Joy Division, New Order, and Happy Mondays.
This means that the bar has a solid background in playing good music, and their regulars agree! According to students who frequent here, the DJs and musical acts are always on point, providing excellent entertainment that pumps up the crowd.
We like that they also have a regularly updated calendar with the lineup of their performers, making it easy for party-goers to attend events led by their favourite artists.
It’s important to note that tickets are required for entry. On top of this, booking in advance is highly recommended as slots sell out fast.
Another thing that makes them stand out is that the venue is also available for private activities. It can be rented for photo shoots, video shoots, and other events — so we give them plus points for that!
Additionally, this is also one of the few clubs in the area that are open until 4:00 am, giving students plenty of time to party and enjoy themselves. However, they are closed on Sundays, so it’s recommended to look for other clubs if you want to party on that day.

Pros
- Has a good location
- Has responsive and helpful customer service
- Open until 4:00 am
Cons
- Has an entrance free
- Has a dress code
We think that Club Liv is an excellent choice for students who are looking for a vibrant nightlife scene. This nightclub has a great location in Deansgate that is perfect for those who want to party all night, as there are several bars and clubs in the area.
The club accepts both walk-ins and reservations, but we recommend booking a table in advance as it can get crowded, especially during peak nights. The booking process is straightforward, and guests can use the club’s website.
Alternatively, one can also contact the team through Instagram, Facebook, or email. We discovered that they are very responsive — so we give them plus points!
It’s worth noting they have an entry fee that starts at £10, which may not be ideal for those looking for an affordable night out experience. However, ladies are free before 11.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a visit.
It’s important to note that they have a dress code policy that prohibits hats, hoodies, trainers, casual boots, flat sandals, flip-flops, and large chains. However, once you are inside, you can be assured that you will have a safe and enjoyable time.
Something worth highlighting is that Club Liv has a reputation for hosting both DJs and live musical acts that hypes the crowd for hours.
In fact, we think one of the best things about Club Liv is that it stays open until 4:00 am, which is perfect for those who want to dance the night away.
Regulars have also mentioned that the staff members are polite and helpful — which is always a great bonus.

Pros
- Has a convenient ticket-booking policy
- Has reasonably-priced drinks
- Has wheelchair access and disabled toilets
Cons
- Open for only twice a week
The Bread Shed is a great spot for students who love music. This venue has become known for hosting both DJs and live musical acts that keep the party going.
Booking tickets through their website is a seamless process. For those who will encounter any issues, we like that the crew is responsive through calls or emails.
Although, one downside is that the website does not have a real-time calendar of events, unlike other nightclubs in the area. Nevertheless, students can follow their social media accounts to keep an eye on any acts that they may be interested in.
According to their regulars, the staff members at the Bread Shed are friendly and accommodating — even giving free drinks to guests celebrating something.
We’re also sure that students will appreciate reasonably priced drinks, especially beer.
However, there have been instances where they stopped selling drinks as early as 12:45 am. This may not be ideal for those who intend to drink as much as they can on night outs.
They’re also a notable venue for their inclusivity. We appreciate that they offer wheelchair access and disabled toilets, making it more convenient for those with mobility issues.
Another thing we like about them is that they also have lunchtime events on Saturdays, which is perfect for students who want to enjoy the venue during the day rather than at night.
However, a huge downside for us is that The Bread Shed is only open twice a week, which is far less frequent than other establishments in the area.

Customer Service | 4/5 |
Pros
- Has a good location
- Does not have a dress code
- Regularly hosts indie artists
Cons
- Has inconsistent customer service
Venue Nightclub is one of the most popular establishments for students in Manchester — and we believe that’s for a good reason. Conveniently located at Jackson’s Row, this nightclub is easily accessible and attracts a large number of students.
Unlike other establishments in the area, there is no dress code at Venue Nightclub. This means that their guests can dress comfortably and enjoy the night without worrying about what to wear.
They are also renowned for hosting musical acts, especially indie music. Here, one can often come across up-and-coming artists before they go big. Additionally, we also learned that they feature DJs that energise the crowd to dance all night long.
Overall, this is a great place to party for those who love to dance and listen to good music.
Guests can keep track of all their events through their website, and tickets can be booked there — which we found very convenient. Of course, one may also try buying tickets at the doors during the event itself, but, likely, the acts are already sold out.
When we reviewed their ticket prices, we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable they are. Tickets start at £1.50 only, although the price may vary for different artists.
However, there have been multiple reports about the bouncers being rude. This can be a real turn-off for some customers, but it is important to note that there are still those who appreciate their customer service.

Pros
- Located at Manchester’s Gay Village
- Dog-friendly
- Hosts various acts including drag queens and comedians
Cons
- Can be crowded
The Brewers is located in the heart of Canal Street – Manchester’s Gay Village. We think that this is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun and lively night out.
The bar is perfect for those who want to take in the atmosphere and enjoy a drink or two before hitting the dancefloor.
One of the things that make The Brewers stand out is that it is a dog-friendly pub, which is rare in the area. However, be reminded that bringing your furry friend once the party starts can be stressful for them, so it’s best to leave them at home.
Another great feature is their function area which can be rented for private events. We think that it’s perfect for those who want to celebrate a special occasion in style.
They are also loved for hosting a range of musical acts, including DJs, singers, and bands. But what sets them apart is their welcome to drag queens and comedians on their stage — making it an inclusive venue for all.
Also, it’s worth noting that they are open every day, sometimes up to 4:00 am! In our books, this is a huge plus for those who like to go all out.
However, we did note some complaints that the place can get packed at times, with some regulars even mentioning that there are too many people for the venue’s capacity.
Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a night of dancing, drinking, and fun in Manchester, The Brewers is definitely worth checking out.

Pros
- Good for birthday celebrations
- Hosts DJs and musical acts from various genres
Cons
- Has inconsistent customer service
- Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
It’s not always easy to find a place to celebrate a birthday for students, but we believe that Ark is a great option to consider. In fact, one of the reasons why this pub is popular is because of its affordable drinks.
Booking a table or a booth here is also easy. We love how we can book online through their website or contact their responsive team through phone calls or emails.
Another plus for us is that their staff members are polite and helpful, making sure that they are having a great time.
Unfortunately, some customers have mentioned that their customer service can be inconsistent at times, with some of the crew coming across as rude.
On the upside, we found that they also host various events, including DJs and musical acts from different genres. We believe that it’s great that they offer student deals on some events.
All of their events are posted on their website, so it’s easy to keep track of acts that potential guests may be interested in.
When it comes to ticket booking, there is an option to book online in advance or purchase at the door. However, there is a risk that the slots may already be sold out by then, so we think that it’s best to book in advance.
Unfortunately, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so it’s advisable to look for other places to hang out on if you’re planning a night out during these days.

Pros
- Has an accessible location
- Features a different musical act every night
- Has good customer service
Cons
- Has issues with their floors
42’s is a popular nightclub located in the heart of Manchester, we like that it’s only three minutes away from the John Rylands Library. This makes it accessible for students who want to have a fun night out.
One of the best things about them is that they offer different musical acts every night, so there is always something for everyone. Tickets can be conveniently purchased in advance through their website, making the process easier for guests.
However, it is important to note that the acts tend to sell out fast, so we advise that you book early. You can also try buying tickets at the door, but entry is no longer guaranteed at that point – better be safe, aye?
Aside from being a great nightclub, we also learned that the place has a rich history. It turns out, they have been operational for over two decades and have been the haunt of many Manchester musicians.
Some of the acts that graced their stage are Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis, Slow Readers, Courteeners, and Blossoms — this club has seen it all!
We’ve spoken to the regulars here and they shared that are happy with the service they receive. According to them, they feel safe because the bouncers are approachable.
However, some reports have mentioned sticky and slippery floors, making it difficult to walk, especially if you are already tipsy.
It’s important to note that this issue seems to have been resolved since it was brought up. Despite this, we recommend wearing shoes with good grip and being careful while walking.

Pros
- Has a Brazilian ambience
- Open everyday of the week
- Accepts walk-ins
Cons
- Has an inconsistent customer service
Florida is a unique bar in Withy Grove that offers a Brazilian ambience, which makes it stand out from other nightclubs in the area in our opinion.
When we spoke to their regulars, we learned that it is a popular destination for regulars who appreciate the great DJs and affordable drinks, especially their beer.
What’s great about Florida is that it is open every day of the week, which is something that not a lot of the nightclubs in the area offer. This makes it an accessible destination for students looking for a night out.
One of the advantages of Florida is that they accept walk-ins — perfect for those who are looking for last-minute destinations. However, we recommend booking a table through their website or by calling their team, especially on busy nights.
Booking in advance also offers drinks packages, which is an added advantage for those looking to save a few pounds.
While the service here can be hit or miss, we think that this should not discourage you from visiting. Some of our reviewers received excellent customer service.
Unfortunately, on the other hand, others complained about rude staff members. We suggest you go and judge their service for yourself.
