Pros

  • Amazing architectural design
  • Gives off a luxe quality of living
  • Cost of living is outweighed by available amenities

Cons

  • Lease processing may sometimes take a longer period of time
  • Some units do not have the same quality as others

As one of Manchester’s highest-rated apartment developments, The Duet at MediaCityUK offers contemporary city living with the feel of a wholesome community.

Since Manchester is becoming the best option next to London in terms of home ownership, we love that The Duet offers a one-of-a-kind “Superenting” area. We think the best thing about this place is that everything you need is in one place.

Situated in the vibrant Salford Quays waterfront, we are impressed to find that The Duet is near a wide range of local amenities. Our favourites include bars, restaurants, leisure facilities, and even a nursery for childcare.

We’ve seen the range of their one, two, and three-bedroom apartments for rent, and we think there is a place for everyone looking for a home in Manchester. On the downside, we are a bit iffy about some customer reports that not all units are created equally.

A particular resident we talked to stated that there are electrical appliances that don’t work properly. Furthermore, some respondents mentioned that the other units have kitchen devices that are lower cost versions of what is in the market.

Although, one thing keeping us positive about this is their 24/7 concierge service, where you will be able to get in touch with a representative for any needs that you may have.

Whether regarding your electricity consumption or booking an appointment for repairs within your flat, we love that you can be rest assured that your concerns will be addressed by the helpful staff.

We are also impressed to find that their units offer a lot of space for variety and furnishings. These are useful for both travelers and long term tenants as it provides a ton of leg room.

Other than that, pet owners will be happy to know that they also offer pet-friendly units and communal areas. We think these amenities are a nice touch to the overall facility.

If you are willing to take the extra time in inspecting your chosen unit, make sure everything is up to par with your standards.

We are still impressed with what we’ve seen and we think it’s still a great option to look into.

Pros

  • Clean and spacious rooms
  • Offers modern and functional amenities
  • Welcomes pet owners

Cons

  • May be difficult to locate at first
  • Requests may take some time to be resolved

Dandara Living’s Chapel Wharf is conveniently located off the centre of Manchester, making it one of the most peaceful and convenient places to live in.

We were impressed to find that it’s only three minutes away from Salford’s central train station. It even has its own “Trinity bridge” connecting this apartment complex to the city centre in five minutes by foot.

Another thing we love about the Chapel Wharf is that there is no traffic noise. From our surveys, we noted that most residents enjoy the peace and quiet in the apartments because of its unfrequented location.

As for their amenities, they have their own gym and virtual studio – a club room with live streaming events. We think that it is a great way of encouraging their resident to meet new people.

Another thing we’re pleased about is that Chapel Wharf welcomes pet owners. Their communal areas are clean and well-kept, which greatly impressed us.

We feel a bit iffy about how the management is not able to address all of its residents’ resident’s  concerns in a timely manner.

There are some instances of residents not being able to get repair appointments for months which can cause bigger inconveniences.

Summing up our observations, if you are looking for a home that is both easily accessible but not within the busy city centre, Chapel Wharf is a great option.

Pros

  • Beautiful architectural design
  • Modern and contemporary designed units
  • Best for those looking for luxurious amenities
  • Attentive staff

Cons

  • Higher prices compared to other apartment options
  • Noise during peak days

For a high-class and luxurious residential option in Manchester, Vox definitely fits the bill. What we love about its elegant and sophisticated interiors.

We’re also impressed by how well-kept their common areas are. Their modern designed interiors will make you feel like you’re living in a hotel.

What we like most about the apartment units at Vox is that all come with a balcony. Furthermore, despite the busy roads and trams nearby, we were impressed to find its windows and doors offer excellent soundproofing when closed.

As for its location, Vox is near Salford Quays, giving its residents a stunning view of the Irwell river. We also love that it’s only a five minute walk to Deansgate, where most bars and pubs can be found.

Interestingly, the management at Vox also arranges game nights and other events for its residents. We like how these events make the place feel like a solid community rather than just another run-the-mill apartment complex.

On the other hand, we do feel iffy about some reports regarding their utilities. For instance, one resident we spoke with mentioned that the post room occasionally misplaces mails and packages.

Another downside is that the apartment building can get pretty busy, especially during Friday nights and weekends because most tenants are usually partying or attending events.

Sadly, there isn’t much that others can do about the noise, so Vox might not be the ideal place for you if you long for quiet weekends.

Pros

  • Calm and green environment
  • Award-winning waterfront properties
  • Near tramways and bus stops
  • Commendable customer service staff

Cons

  • Limited parking
  • Unmaintained communal areas

AmroLiving’s The Green Rooms is truly exceptional when it comes to modern designed homes. We were impressed to see how the firm incorporated its signature architectural design of pairing high ceilings with touches of greenery into this apartment building.

Another thing we were impressed with is its location in Salford. Although The Green Rooms is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s still easily accessible from a variety of transportation options and amenities.

We also find it notable that the management also hosts weekly yoga classes. It also has a gym for its residents, as well as complimentary hot beverages in the common areas.

It’s also worth mentioning that the staff and management at The Green Rooms are quite exceptional. From what we’ve seen, most of their staff puts effort into making each resident cared for.

On top of that, we were pleased that while other landlords may pit tenants against each other to compete for available options, The Green Rooms strictly operate on a first-come, first-served basis to promote fairness.

We’re just a bit disappointed about how there were some reports about tenants who don’t clean up after their pets, and we think it can be a deterrent for staying at their lounges. Sadly, the management has not addressed this yet.

We’ve also talked to some residents about their complaints regarding the available parking slots. There is only one multi-storey car park opposite the building and it can be a challenge to get one especially during peak seasons.

Overall, we think that The Green rooms is still a good choice if you are willing to get over the issues that we’ve mentioned, especially if you love having open spaces and greenery.

Pros

  • Great location on the edge of the Northern Quarter
  • Close to shopping district
  • Easy access to trams and busses

Cons

  • Limited broadband options
  • No in-house parking available

The Astley is a Mulbury Homes rental development owned and managed by M&G Real Estate. We are pleased that it is located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in the city centre.

Its location is only a 5-minute walk to the local marina, which is a great place for pets. Furthermore, it’s also only a 10-minute walk to the city centre where most of the shopping establishments and public transportation is.

In terms of design, the units we’ve seen are modern, spacious, with great features. We also like that their studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units have well-insulated windows that help keep out noise from the city centre.

Notably, the rooms are also quite spacious. Their studio apartment can accommodate two to three people comfortably, and there is enough space to fit the basic furnishings you need and more!

On the downside, there is an issue about the available broadband providers allowed by the management. Currently, they only allow BT, Virgin media, Sky and Hyper-optic which can be another challenge if you are not a subscriber of these providers.

Another downside is that it can be noisy and bothersome during peak hours and weekends. We found that even if all the windows are closed, there’s still some slight racket that can be heard depending on where your unit is.

Despite the drawbacks we’ve mentioned, if your priority is getting a spacious unit, The Astley is still a good choice overall.
