Craving a bit of Greek? Tzatziki’s got you covered! This family-run business can serve you a whole host of Greek dishes!
They cook with some of the freshest ingredients to make some of the most delicious gyros and kebabs. They operate as a deli by day and as a takeaway food business by night. The best part here? The affordable prices!
We especially loved taking a bite out of their Pita Loukaniko, which is one of their Pita Gyro items. We loved it for the juicy pork and paprika sausage that was wrapped up in a soft pita wrap, which made for some great contrasting textures.
Pro tip Want some more Greek food, even if you’re just looking for a snack? Their deli also sells some Greek food products that you can check out! |

This family-run restaurant aims to serve up a great dining experience! While The Mexican is popular for families, it’s a good place for any kind of fun and casual gathering.
The colourful wall art and calming yellow lighting give it a fun and casual vibe, and the food takes it a notch higher! They’ve got lots of delicious Mexican street food served in shareable portions, so you can snack on them with some friends or family.
We loved sharing their Birria Tacos mainly for the savoury beef shin inside, with the onion and coriander expanding the flavours. It’s a great choice if you’re taking a table for three, since they serve three tacos per order!
Pro tip Love munching on wings? Then better get here before anyone else on a Wednesday! They have all-you-can-eat wings on that day for only £20 per person, but this is only available for 90 minutes! |
Kej’s

They serve up different kinds of easy-to-eat food that you can eat on the go, or that you can share with some friends! But aside from your usual fast food, they also serve some Indian dishes, like curries and naan—at student-friendly prices!
We suggest getting their korma curry, which has the right balance of cream and spices that’ll fill you up! Plus, it’s made with some coconut, which really adds to the flavour.

MyLahore

Fans of Asian cuisine will love this one! MyLahore is one of the GOAT Asian fusion restaurants in Manchester, and it’s got one of the most diverse menus we’ve ever seen!
In here, you’ll find a mix of Indian and Pakistani dishes, and of course, some of the usual Mancunian fare. So you could get some pakoras and biryanis or a burger and shepherd’s pie—no need to have a row with your mate on where to eat!
But if we had to choose our favourite, it would have to be the Chicken Biryani. We loved the way that the chicken was cooked and how the rice absorbed the flavours of the onions, garlic, and cardamom!
Pro tip Got a little one with a creative mind? They occasionally hold colouring competitions for children, so your kids might have the opportunity to show off their skills. You might get some vouchers or gift cards if they win! |
German Donner Kebab (GDK)

Location: 311-313 Wilmslow Rd
Operating Hours: Daily — 11 AM-12 AM
Contact: 0161 225 5522 (cel.), [email protected] (email)
You won’t get doner kebabs like the ones here, and we can say that for a couple of reasons. One, they use lots of herbs and spices to give their kebabs that extra kick of flavour.
Two, they serve their kebabs in different ways! They have kebabs wrapped in flatbread, kebabs in rice bowls, and even a kebabs-and-fries combo!
Our favourite, and one we’d recommend, would have to be the Doner Panini. The doner kebabs taste extra delish with the melted cheese, and it goes well with the garlic sauce. Plus, it’s a great choice for lunch on the go!
Pro tip They’re extra busy around weekday mornings, so you might have to rush to get the order you want before they run out! Either that, or you could come in the late afternoon, when it would be less busy. |

This up-and-coming diner serves some of the juiciest and meatiest burgers you could find in Manchester. Plus, their prices are pretty affordable too, so that’s another bonus for them!
Their Fryday Regular Burger is one of their best burgers, and also our favourite! If you order it, you can expect some nicely cooked and crunchy chicken breast with their signature house sauce, plus some delicious melted cheese.

You’ll find, aside from the usual Indian fare of roti/naan and samosas, some Punjabi dishes that you might’ve not heard of before.
Care for a Kela Nu Shaak curry, with its sweet and tangy taste? Or perhaps a Vegetable Jaipuri, which has the vegetables cooked in their special gravy? Both of those dishes quickly became our favourites, and are not-to-miss if you’re dining here!

If you’re looking for a specific dish to order, we’d suggest their freshly battered fish and chips, which pairs great with their ale! Plus, it also has a salty kick to it that might help you after a hangover, and it’s also good for sharing with friends.
Speaking of, The Great Central’s also great for simply sitting down and having a chat with some friends. Their friendly service and interior design, which looks like a welcoming parlour, might just be what you and your friends need for a relaxed dining experience.

Here’s something for those with a real sweet tooth! Crema Dolce can serve up some of the sweetest dishes in Manchester, along with breakfast and brunch options.
Their Jam Sponge Pudding is one of the menu’s highlights. It had that kind of texture and flavour that was just right, and it was warm too—so comforting!
And if you’re also looking for some coffee as a pick-me-up, they’ve got that too! The highlight of their drinks menu is the cappuccino. It’s hot and steamy enough to wake you up, with just a bit of chocolate powder for a subtle sweetness.
Also, as a little bonus, it wouldn’t hurt to come here for a date. A lot of their menu items have cute presentations, and who knows, it might end up sweetening the deal!

Nothing tastes like friendship quite like a pint from The Friendship Inn! This traditional-style pub has been part of Fallowfield for so long that it’s one of the spots that you need to try out.
Here, you can sit down and order a pint of lager or cask ale; they’ve got plenty! They even have these five “core range” beers made from their brewery—you must try these out!
From their five core beers, we have a favourite: the Hydes Original, which has a good balance of fruity and spicy flavours.
Their food is no joke either, and we suggest getting a bite out of their Pie n Chips. This dish has a very juicy steak, topped with peas and a nice smattering of gravy—the perfect beer pairing!
