Pros
- Excellent customer service
- Accepts private events
- Wide variety of menu offerings
Cons
- Establishment could be cleaner
- Crowds can get rowdy during peak hours
The Printworks’ The Bierkeller is a spacious beer hall that houses three bars with various aesthetics.
Their German beers, Bavarian-style food, live music, and DJs create a lively atmosphere every night of the week, which makes them perfect for a night out with friends or watching Manchester United score its goals.
What further impressed us was all of their positive reviews about these offerings.
From what we’ve seen, The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex has a lot to offer in addition to the classic Bavarian beer hall.
We were stoked to find that they also have social bench seatings, live Oompah bands, and personnel wearing lederhosen to keep their customers entertained.
The Complex includes its own sports bar, Shooters, the biggest sports bar in Manchester, and features back-to-back sporting events, pool tables, and shuffleboards.
We love that they have all of these and more available to customers because we think it’s a great way to break the ice during social situations.
Another thing we love about them is their 80 beers at the Around The World Bar, which offers a variety of exotic brews and mouth watering cuisine from all over the world.
We don’t see this offered at other establishments, and their customers, especially beer enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike, highly rave about this feature.
Furthermore, we found that their location is adaptable. It’s a terrific location for networking events, conferences, private parties, and weddings and is a great event spot.
A notable downside to them, though, would be their facilities and their cleanliness. Based on the customers we’ve spoken with, the overall establishment could be cleaner.
The way we see it, it’s still a dining establishment, and we wish they could do a better job at their upkeep since this can make or break the whole experience.

Pros
- Friendly and welcoming staff
- Wide variety of menu options
Cons
- Food quality could be better
- Has 10% service charge
What initially caught our attention was Lime Restaurant and Bar’s excellent location. It’s right at The Lowry Outlet Mall, in the centre of Salford Quays and MediaCity.
We think it’s perfect for those who want to be in the posher part of Manchester that’s also near the city’s central district. Customers can stop by for a light meal after shopping or have dinner before a performance at the Lowry. Pretty convenient, eh?
Another noteworthy aspect is that Lime offers daily breakfast, lunch, and supper menus, which we like for their variety. We also love that their dishes are prepared from scratch using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
In addition, vegan and gluten-free alternatives are also available—that’s plus points for inclusivity!
There’s also a huge assortment of beers, craft ales, and wines, as well as inexpensive cocktails and a happy hour. We think the options are pretty much ideal for game nights and weekday after-work beverages.
Another thing we like about Lime is it’s also a perfect place for alfresco dining and drinking, with its laid-back atmosphere and south-facing patio.
And if you want to host a custom event or party, you can select from cocktail courses, set menus, and private hire to accommodate parties of up to 500 people! Isn’t that brilliant?
The only downside, though, is their food quality. From our surveys, we’ve noted some complaints from the customers regarding inconsistent taste and overall quality of the dishes they ordered.
Although most of them are okay with it, we still hoped that their consistency could be better. For us, food is a big factor since they’re a dining establishment, and finding these claims can be a deal-breaker for food lovers who wish to dine with them.
Even so, we’re still optimistic about them due to their overall offerings. So we suggest customers take both the positives and the negatives into consideration prior to dining with them.

Pros
- Friendly and welcoming staff
- Wide variety of menu options
Cons
- Limited game time showing available
- Food quality could be better
Tib Street Tavern is a sports pub that’s been a staple for football-loving Mancs over the years. They offer a collection of beer from across the world in elegant settings and a laid-back environment.
We love how this Tib Street bar has a homey and welcoming ambiance. Their interiors are decorated with exposed brick and leather booth seats, making for a cosy and pleasant place to watch games with your group.
For non-sports fans, they offer separate ‘no sport zones’ where guests can relax and dine away from the rowdy crowds.
As for their food selection, we like that Tib Street Tavern has some fantastic beers on tap and by the bottle, as well as cider and wines, in their well-stocked and reasonably priced bar.
Overall, we’re thoroughly impressed with their offerings because only a few bars around the area offer the same range of choices that they have.
Customers will be happy to find that they can also order buckets of beer or cider at a discount. We think this is a great deal for any group that plans to stay for more than a short pint.
In addition to great quality bar snacks, they also have a full food menu, making this pub a one-stop-shop for anyone seeking a fun night out in the Northern Quarter.
Given all of these positive ratings about them, we do have to note some downsides that we’ve seen.
Based on the customers we’ve talked to, their main feedback is that their food quality needs to be better—specifically their full-dish menus. We think this can be a deal breaker for those who come for the food, not their showing times.

Pros
- Friendly and welcoming staff
- Wide variety of menu options
- Great food quality
Cons
- Limited seating availability
- More expensive compared to other establishments
The Director’s Box is a posh sports bar near Albert Square that can easily accommodate customers’ wants for their night out.
Their interiors are tastefully decorated with cosy leather booths and dark mahogany-coloured bars. In our books, their ambiance tops most bars in Manchester.
In addition, sports fans will be thrilled to know that they have an array of 4K and HD televisions that continuously broadcast the most recent live sporting events from around the world.
We love that they show boxing, rugby, F1, tennis, and cricket screenings in addition to football.
Given all of these raved about things regarding their facilities and ambiance, we think it makes them an ideal location to watch the big game.
As for their menu selections, we think that a great drink menu is essential to any sports bar. With this, guests will be glad to know that they can choose from a variety of craft and draught beers or gin.
Additionally, they also offer an excellent meal menu with various choices available. We’re actually impressed that it has seven categories, including a vegan and kid’s section, and this solidified our positive impression of their offerings.
In addition, they have pre-booked menus for those who want a specific range of dishes, like brunch and buffet-style eats.
Even with all of these great things about them, we’re sad to note that there are some downsides. Given how popular this place can be, we’ve noted some complaints about their lack of available seats.
So, we recommend customers come in outside their peak hours or book a reservation in advance to ensure their visit will be a good experience.

Pros
- Great food quality
- Wide variety of menu options
- Offers outdoor seating
Cons
- Records of poor customer service
- Limited opening times
Dive Bar & Grill is a multi-faceted venue that transitions from a daytime foodie haven to somewhere to catch all of the sporting action.
What we initially loved about them is that they host a huge party atmosphere at the club every Friday and Saturday night, all through to the early hours. We think that this makes them a great choice for a night out with large groups.
That said, we did notice that their opening times are pretty limited. They’re closed from Monday to Wednesday and are only open for 4 hours from Thursday to Saturday.
Sunday would be the only day customers can fully kick back and enjoy their dining experience. We don’t necessarily see this as a downside, but it’s something that customers should consider prior to dining with them.
What we’re a bit iffy about is their poor customer service. From our surveys, we found that many customers encountered staff who are not very welcoming or accommodating.
On the flip side, what kept us positive about them was their menu offerings. Their dishes are influenced by Asian street food, so diners can expect a unique aroma and excellent flavours.
Furthermore, their menu is intended to be shared. It includes foods such as bao buns, fresh sushi, salt and pepper chicken, and katsu curry, to mention a few.
For us, this means that even though their prices are higher compared to other establishments, large groups can benefit from their hefty portions.
It’s also worth noting that they offer a different menu, depending on the day and time you’ll be dining with them.
They have more deals for their drinks on their Thursday and Friday menus, which, impressively, gives customers more drink choices that’s perfect for after work drinks.
As we see it, all these positives still outweigh their initial downsides, which still makes them a viable option for your next game night or just a fun night out with friends.
