Lumiere Clinic provides dermatology and aesthetic services. Since it’s by the edge of the A57 motorway, it’s highly accessible to residents of Deansgate and Hulme.

The clinic offers a comprehensive mole check and skin cancer screening service package for urgent and non-urgent cases. We appreciate it because disease can have a faster prognosis in some people. 

Histology is already a part of what you pay for— a bang-for-the-buck service.

In our initial consultation with a nurse practitioner, we noted their careful examination, complete explanation of the conditions discovered, and the suggested procedure. We didn’t feel any slight treatment or discrimination.

Although the appointment deposit, consultation, and mole removal surgery could easily set one back above £600, its relative affordability and the welcoming energy of the reception staff, nurses, and consultant dermatologists still impressed us.

We definitely see why Lumiere has already bagged awards and a “Good” rating from the CQC.

Everything Skin is a highly esteemed dermatology clinic with branches in London and also in our locale, Cheadle. 

The first prominent sign of its reputation is the long list of consultant dermatologists under its helm—they’re not mediocre, given that some of them are properly seasoned and have accolades. 

Given this level of expertise in the clinic, we were highly confident that our sample consultation for mole checks would go smoothly, and we’re glad to be proven right. The doctor who saw one of our members did good, at least in our books. 

The consultation was short but filled with a precise inquiry on medical history—fast but appropriate for quality service. Explanations of initial findings and proposed treatments to be done in-house are apt, too.

The fast service paired with a steeper-than-usual pricing (thank goodness for its accreditation by major insurance firms) understandably raises some eyebrows. Nonetheless, we still see value for money, given the top-notch experience.

CLNQ—firstly an aesthetic clinic and secondly a medical one—packages itself as a provider of luxury beauty and wellness services in Deansgate. Since opening its doors in 2018, it has helped many Mancunians achieve their dream looks.

We observed some notable strengths of CLNQ. One is a natural way of connecting with clients. 

Posh but not snobbish—we’re in Deansgate after all—the doctors and staff here exude quiet confidence and friendly demeanour. Overall, consults and treatment sessions are a delight (despite the obvious pain of needles or surgery). 

As for mole-related concerns, we were glad to find that CLNQ offers laser mole removal, which is a cheaper and less invasive method that’s fantastic for non-serious cases. It’s a win-win situation for patients looking for a quick and almost painless solution.

In the odd chance of a non-benign mole, the cost of minor surgery to remove it is also within reasonable amounts. We’re a bit sad knowing that histology only comes for an extra fee.

Renovatio seems to change the way we define “luxury” wellness and aesthetic care. 

The Cheshire clinic is discreet and truly feels exclusive, but once you’re there, you’ll realise it’s actually inviting to patients who just want to improve their appearance and health. We admire the clinic for this elegant execution of its vision.

In terms of Renovatio’s actual expertise, we’re delighted to see that it’s under the expert hands of founder Dr Sof Rimouche, a consultant plastic surgeon with over 20 years’ experience. The staff are lovely, too.

We appreciate that Renovatio offers mole removal. However, we’re a bit confused about the pricing. The consult fee is very affordable, while the starting price for laser removal is on the higher end and doesn’t include histology right off the bat.

Nonetheless, a handful of patients who’ve had this treatment at Renovatio were impressed by the care, honesty, and skills of Dr Sof, from the consultation until after treatment.

Brilliant results and newfound confidence

“Dr Sof was brilliant from start to finish. We discussed the removal of 14 moles on my face, all at once. I had become very conscious of them and I didn’t care what the removal would look like, but Dr Sof did. He recommended the laser over anything else to reduce scarring. I wanted them off quickly, which he accommodated for by inviting me back the next day to have the procedure. He explained everything at each step of the way and made the experience the best it could be. I could see the results instantly. The once raised, dark moles were flat. Over the first few days healing was fast and I was in no pain. By day 5 the scabs dropped off and by day 10 the scars are hardly visible. Our first impression of Skin Medical via its website is that it’s for the “everyman.” The St Anne’s Square office has the typical range of aesthetic treatments on offer.

The clinic itself is as clean and nice as the standards set, with a relaxing vibe thanks to the positive and welcoming demeanour of the staff. 

However, it would’ve been better if there were a consultant dermatologist on the team for a 100% in-house diagnosis of skin issues.

Nevertheless, come to this clinic for a quick workaround against raised moles. Like those that snag on accessories and clothing, but aren’t flagged by your GP as potentially cancerous.

Why so? Because this clinic uses a hyfrecator (electrocautery) treatment, which burns off unwanted moles easily using an electric current.

It’s a cheaper, fast-healing solution for fairer skin. Just don’t skip your annual mole check afterwards, as this method is still less effective than excision or laser for stubborn moles.

Simple and pleasing procedure

“I had the mole removal procedure carried out after a consultation meeting where I was under no obligation to go ahead should I choose not to. I decided I wanted to go ahead had 10 moles removed later the same day as I had many that were fleshy or skin tag types which caught/rubbed on clothing or jewellery. It was a very quick and simple procedure during my lunch hour. I felt very confident in my consultant who was very calm and reassuring. There was no pain during it, only the slightest discomfort with the anaesthetic injections under my skin. I am not scared of needles so that didn’t bother me in the slightest. The moles were reduced to scabs straight away which I had to be careful not to then catch or pick off to allow them to heal. They didn’t hurt in the slightest afterwards and I didn’t need any pain relief whatsoever. I had a follow up consultation 3 weeks later to check how they were healing and everything was absolutely fine. I was very pleased with how simple it was and I just wish I’d had it done years ago.”
