Pros

  • Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options, Gluten Free Options
  • Excellent customer service
  • Affordable
  • Wide range of menu options

Cons

  • Drink prices are expensive
  • Inconsistent food quality

Dishoom is a trendy restaurant serving modern Indian cuisine in an exquisite setting with beautiful stained glass windows, perfect for those nonchalant Instagram moments.

We love their whole vibe! Think: old Iranian-style café. This modest establishment serves a magnificent menu that would suit your next brunch appointment.

Furthermore, we like that their menu options, including Granada, the basic omelette, and a bacon wrap, are given a great Eastern spin. We could really taste the Asian spices!

Another thing we love is that there are also numerous vegan options, including a complete fry-up, which is always notable in our books.

That said, we think that customers should know that their menu isn’t available on their website. For us, this can deter those who want to browse their menu before dining with them.

On the other hand, what keeps us positive about them is their excellent customer service. Based on our surveys, most of their customers are quite happy with how efficient and knowledgeable their staff is.

In our honest opinion, we think that this can help with first timers in the establishments and also those who want to try something new.

Moreover, according to our research their drink options are also impressive.

One of their best drinks is their Bloody Mary and the deadly Dhoble, which is vodka blended with orange, orange bitters, lemon, and jaggery.

We love how the whole place ties up its theme, from the food to the decor and especially their prices. All of these factors make them a solid brunch choice any day of the week.

Pros

  • Vegetarian Friendly
  • Allergens are listed on their website
  • Wide range of menu options

Cons

  • Inconsistent food quality
  • Records of poor customer service

The Koffee Pot is a vibrant, bright cafe serving comfort meals, breakfast fry-ups, beer, and beverages.

They’re located in the Northern Quarter, just above Gay Village, which makes them accessible for brunch if you’re coming from that area after a night out of heavy partying.

What initially impressed us about them were their menu offerings. Their motto is “Creating & curing hangovers since 1978” which is well-reflected in their menu and schedules.

When you check their time schedules, they have two opening times within the day. The morning slots are where they serve their best brunch offerings, while the evening opening slots are for the boozy supper choices.

We love their versatility as an establishment; however, this comes with some drawbacks.

Based on our surveys with some of their diners, most of the claims are towards the inconsistency of their food quality.

We honestly think having food quality that can be a hit or miss can be a deal breaker for some.

Despite these drawbacks, what kept us positive about them was their drink offerings. Most of the customers we’ve talked to praised the variety and quality of their bevvies.

This is quite notable in our books since drinks are a big essential for brunches, so overall, we think this makes them a great choice to cure your next hangover.

Pros

  • Excellent Food Quality
  • Great customer service
  • Good dining ambiance

Cons

  • Limited menu variety
  • No allergens listed in the menu

Federal Cafe Bar, located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, is an Australasian cafe and restaurant that serves all-day brunch options. At first glance, their bright and welcoming atmosphere is a bruncher’s dream ambiance.

We love the cosy and homey vibe—as if you’re coming home after a long night of partying.

As for their menu, they have international breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They also serve ozone coffee, specialty teas, and cocktails from the bar, which ties up quite well with their whole menu.

Even so, we must mention that their menu options are limited, and prices are pretty steep.

Their dishes can range from £10 to £15. We think these prices are not for those looking for affordable brunch places.

In addition, we should also note that their allergens aren’t listed on their menu. The way we see it, this can be a deal breaker for those with sensitive allergies to ingredients that aren’t readily listed.

Despite this, we do have to give it to them regarding food quality and customer service.

Most of the customers we’ve talked to raved about their exceptional service levels, making the whole dining experience worth it.

That said, they also have multiple locations around Manchester, making them an excellent choice for brunch dates wherever you come from.

Pros

  • Great coffee quality
  • Multiple locations around Manchester
  • Great food quality

Cons

  • Records of slow service
  • Limited dining space

For coffee lovers, Trove is a simple yet aesthetically pleasing cafe and bakery on Levenshulme. It serves great quality coffee and bread that’s perfect for winding down after a long night out or just catching up with mates.

Impressively, Trove might look simple from the outside, but they quickly caught our attention as a top pick for brunch places after digging more about them.

A couple of reasons why we think that they’re a great choice are as follows:

First, their food quality is one of the most raved about by their customers. According to our surveys, most customers who dine with them love that their quality is consistent with hefty portions.

Second, their coffee quality is also exceptional. We think this makes them a great choice whether you’re looking for brunch spots or a caffeine fix any day of the week.

Lastly, we also love that they have three locations around the city, which makes them accessible to whichever part of Greater Manchester you might be in.

The downside? Unfortunately, they don’t have their menu on their website.

Furthermore, there is limited information on their offerings online, which can be a challenge for first-timers who want to dine with them.

Despite these caveats, we still think they’re worth the try if you’re looking for a cosy caffeine place for your brunch plans.

Pros

  • Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options
  • Excellent food quality

Cons

  • Records of poor customer service
  • Location not easily accessible

Pollen Bakery is a local bakery that specialises in sourdough bread, viennoiserie baked items, and coffee.

Restaurant menus throughout Manchester promote serving ‘Pollen sourdough,’ so we went straight to the source for the authentic experience, and we found that the brunch fare here is exquisite.

The Scandi vibes initially impressed us too! From the sparse yet stylish interior décor, we think that Pollen is another one of those places where the ambiance pairs nicely with their quality food.

Their menu options are unique, to say the least. They take pride in providing great quality breads, which is translated well into their dishes like their famous grilled cheese sandwiches that come with kimchi.

Another thing we love about them is that customers can also buy their freshly made loaves of bread that are famous for good reason.

Despite all the positive traits about them, we do have to mention two downsides.

First, according to our surveys, most of their staff seem unattentive and the service time can be slow.

We think this is because they are more of a bakery than a restaurant. But we still believe it can deter customers from dining with them again.

Second, their location can be hard to find. You can easily miss them, especially if you’re not familiar with the area, because they’re not located near landmarks.
