Pros
- Aesthetic interiors
- Wide range of menu offerings
- Vegan and vegetarian options available
Cons
- Long wait times
- Food quality varies in other locations
Archie’s has been a late-night favourite for Mancs everywhere since its 2010 opening.
This burger joint currently has five restaurants in Manchester alone, immediately capturing our attention. We appreciate how easy it is to dine and order with them wherever you are in the city.
As for their offerings, Archie’s excels in offering a wide array of choices for burgers and sides.
We love the inclusion of toppings like chicken, bacon, lamb donner, and various sauces, meaning customers will be able to personalise and experiment with their orders.
We also want to highlight that their burgers are quite affordable. The cheapest on their list is the Lil Star burger which costs £5.99 and the priciest is the Good Burger which will set you back £11.49.
Given the hefty portions that they offer, we think they’re a great value for your hard-earned pound!
We also want to give them plus points for their vegan and vegetarian options. We appreciate that despite being a burger joint, Archie’s doesn’t forget about the varied food preferences.
What we’re a bit iffy about is their long wait times. According to the customers we’ve talked to, their wait times can go up to around thirty to forty-five minutes, which is something to consider if you’re in a rush.
Furthermore, while Archie’s consistently delivers a delightful experience in its original location, some people in our team who tried their dishes at their other locations were not as satisfied as we were.
In our opinion, this varying quality is something to consider before visiting them. Nonetheless, we’re still keen on them being a solid choice for Mancunian burger enthusiasts who like to experiment with different flavours without shelling out too much.

Pros
- Serves big portions
- Offers vegan and vegetarian options
- Wide range of burger toppings available
- Sells sauces and spices on their website
Cons
- Menu isn’t available on their website
- Dining space is a bit cramped
- Records of long wait times
Almost Famous is one of Manchester’s most-loved burger joints that serves up high stacked burgers that’s perfect for those with a big appetite!
First off, we want to highlight their menu offerings. From what we’ve seen, they have a lot of genre-bending burgers that would suit almost every preference.
After trying out their dishes, some of our favourites are the Triple Nom and the Phoenix. Both of these items cost £12.50, which is a steal for the amount of food we got!
Furthermore, we’re also happy to find that their sauces and spices are for sale on their website. For us, this is perfect for those who want to recreate Almost Famous’ burgers at home.
What we’re a bit iffy about is the long wait times that their customers have complained about. From our surveys, the wait can take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour, especially during weekends and holidays because of the limited seating space.
We think this isn’t a major deal breaker since Almost Famous also offers online delivery which keeps us positive about them. We just wish their full menu was on there too for added convenience.
Lastly, Almost Famous frequently offers deals and discounts. So, keeping an eye on their website is advisable if you want to grab a good deal.

Pros
- Uses Grade A UK chuck beef
- List of allergens are available on their website
- Serves hefty portions
Cons
- Issues with online ordering
- Menu isn’t available on their website
We find it interesting that Burgerism started out as a pick-up-only kitchen just off West Ashton St and Eccles New Road in Salford. Now, we’re impressed that they have a cult following for being one of the best burgers in the city!
One thing that caught our attention are the rave reviews of their big patty portions using Grade A UK chuck beef, despite being marketed as smash burgers. For us, this means they don’t skimp on the ingredients used on their dishes.
Additionally, we also liked that they offer their own homemade special Burgerism sauce that’s a big hit with their customers. We think this gives their burgers a unique spin compared to other establishments because the flavours are unlike anything in the city.
On the downside, we were disappointed that Burgerism’s choices of toppings are a bit limited compared to other establishments.
However, based on our experience, we think Burgerism’s dedication to quality over quantity is what keeps their bonafide burger lovers happy, and that’s a plus in our books.
Another thing that we’re a bit iffy about is the issues regarding their online ordering system.
From our experience, their online menu is great to check out deals, prices and even allergens. However, we think it’s still more convenient to order through a third-party application than on their website.
In our opinion, this isn’t exactly a major issue, but we do think it’s something to keep in mind when choosing them. That said, considering their hefty portions and great burger quality, we still think they’re worth trying out.

Pros
- Uses locally sourced meats
- Offers poultry and vegetarian options
- Has online delivery and pick up options available
Cons
- Records of slow service
- Higher priced compared to other fast-food establishments
Honest Burgers has quickly grown in popularity across Manchester because of their locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, and this is the first thing that we love about them.
Furthermore, we appreciate that their burgers and other dishes are made in-house, and we definitely noted the difference in freshness when we tried them out!
We also liked that they have options aside from beef, as their menu shows poultry and vegetarian options.
What we’re sad about, though, is the higher prices that they have for their offerings. Honest Burgers’ menu items usually range from £10 to £15, which is a bit steep compared to other ones we’ve tried before.
Furthermore, we noted from our surveys that there were some complaints from their patrons that Honest Burgers’ staff are a bit slow even outside of peak hours. In our opinion, this may lead to some inconveniences, especially for those in a rush.
That said, what keeps us positive about them is their online delivery and pick up options. Most of the customers we’ve talked to mentioned that it’s easier to get their food through their website than dining in—so that’s something to consider.
Overall, for what Honest Burgers offers, we still think they’re worth the splurge for diners looking for great quality meats.

Pros
- Posh interiors
- Known for serving good meats
- Uses quality ingredients for their dishes
Cons
- Higher priced compared to other establishments
- Limited burger options
Hawksmoor has earned recognition as one of the best places for burgers in Europe. This upscale steakhouse has gained considerable acclaim for its commitment to offering high-quality British beef and locally-sourced ingredients.
Upon visiting them, we were impressed to find that they’re set in a charming old Victorian Courthouse. Complete with the elegant decor inside, dining here is truly a posh experience for us.
What we love about their offerings is that their burgers can be customised by their patrons by choosing from an array of steak cuts. For us, this offers a unique experience from the usual patties that other establishments offer.
Additionally, their sides and other viands share the same excellent quality, which means patrons can get an all-rounder dining experience when dining with them.
That said, we must mention that Hawksmoor is a fine dining establishment and their offerings are priced as such.
In our opinion, this might be a deal-breaker for those who are not ready to shell out huge amounts just for a burger..
On the other hand, we do think that with all that Hawksmoor has to offer, they’re a perfect choice for burger lovers who want to fancy it up a bit on special occasions.
