Pros

  • Has worked with a wide range of clientele
  • Offers courses for lorry and bus drivers
  • Has patient and calm instructors

Cons

  • May take some time to respond to enquiries

Hughes Driver Training has over 30 years of experience in the industry. We were impressed to learn that they have worked with a wide range of clientele over the years.

In fact, they have already helped tens of thousands of people since they started operating—quite impressive, if you ask us!

We also think it’s noteworthy that, aside from training casual drivers, they also provide training lorry and bus drivers in Manchester and other nearby areas.

When it comes to their courses, they offer a wide range of training from theory to category D1, which is a training required to get a minibus licence for vehicles with up to 17 seats.

Apart from their driving courses, we gathered that they also help their students fill out and organise medical and other required forms to secure a licence.

With this in mind, we believe that they are going to be a great option for students who want to start their driving career.

We surveyed some of their previous clients and most of them commended the patient and calm demeanour of the instructors during driving lessons. Because of this, we highly recommend them to those who may be anxious about attending driving lessons.

Just keep in mind that they are an in-demand team of driving instructors. Unfortunately, we have received reports that they can take a while to respond to prospective students.

It would be best to contact them ahead of time to give yourself enough wiggle room.

Pros

  • Provides short yet effective driving lessons
  • Has instructors that pay close attention to their students
  • Offers home pickup services

Cons

  • Has higher rates compared to average driving instructors

One of the best things about Suja Driving School is that they provide short yet effective driving lessons to their students.

When we assessed their services, they took 17 hours less time in helping students pass their driving tests when compared to other driving instructors in the UK — which is great!

When we spoke to their clients, they claimed that the good numbers resulted from the close attention the instructors give their students. They added that they were provided specific and constructive feedback which allowed them to improve their driving skills swiftly.

Notably, Suja Driving School also offers home pickups — which is something that we appreciate since not a lot of instructors in the area offer the service. We think this setup is ideal for younger learners who don’t have the means to travel to go to them.

Furthermore, we appreciate that they also have female instructors on their team who are available upon request.

When it comes to their courses, we like that they have specialised courses for manual vehicles and automatic vehicles. Suja Driving School even has intensive driving courses available for those who want to master driving various types of cars,

With their level of service, we weren’t surprised to learn that they charge higher than the average driving instructor. However, according to those who have received their services, they are truly worth the investment if you are willing to pay extra.

Pros

  • Offers slow and steady courses
  • Good for beginners
  • Charges per hour instead of per course

Cons

  • Has instances where instructors cancel or reschedule at the last minute

Impulse Driving School is a popular choice among students who want to pass their driving test. They have a team of DVSA-approved instructors who are great at teaching the basics of driving.

With this in mind, we strongly recommend them to those who would be driving for the first time. According to our research, their courses allow students to ease into driving without overwhelming them with information.

According to the students we spoke with, they appreciate the slow and steady approach by the driving instructors here, which contrasts to the quick lessons provided by the other schools they tried in Manchester.

On top of their specialised courses for beginners, we like that they have intensive courses available as well. This is an option available for those who prefer availing of a crash course to quickly secure their driving licence.

Another positive thing about this school is that they charge per hour. Their services start at £30, making it more affordable compared to those who charge per course – which is especially great for fast learners.

Finally, we’re just a bit iffy about the reports that we encountered where the instructors reschedules and cancels appointments at the last minute.

Since this seems to be an issue among many students, we think that this team is more suitable for clients who have a more forgiving schedule that can accommodate short-notice changes.

Pros

  • Help students pass their driving test on the first try
  • Good for anxious students
  • Offers courses for those who want to become driving instructors

Cons

  • May take a while to respond to enquiries

L Team Driving School has a reputation for helping their students pass their driving test on the first attempt.

When we spoke to their previous clients, most of them attributed this to the fact that their instructors are great at teaching grace under pressure. This is why we believe that they are going to be ideal for students who may be anxious about taking their driving test.

Another positive thing about their team is that they are always on time — making them a strong choice for customers who have a tight schedule.

When we reviewed their services, we were also delighted to learn that they have specialised courses for those who want to be driving instructors.

The training here is composed of three sections to help individuals learn technical and personal skills that they need to become competent in the industry. However, the rate for such training starts at £999, which is surely a hefty investment.

On the other hand, according to those who have undergone this training, the fee is definitely worth it. Those we spoke with mentioned they were able to offer driving instructor services right away after completing the course.

However, it is important to keep in mind that there are instances where it took them a while to respond to enquiries. Because of this, we are a bit hesitant in recommending them to students who are pressed for time.

Pros

  • Has a responsive customer service
  • Helps students pass their driver’s test on the first try
  • Has a straightforward and affordable pricing

Cons

  • Has instances where their instructors came across as rude or dismissive

Go 2 Pass stood out to us because of their responsive customer service team. Unlike other driving instructors in the area, they are able to accommodate students at a short notice.

Because of this, we strongly recommended them to clients who are pressed for time in obtaining their driver’s licence. In fact, we found out that they have already assisted over a thousand first-time takers in passing their tests.

Another good thing about them is that they have straightforward and affordable pricing. Here, a 5-hour and 10-hour course costs £120 and £240 respectively — which is lower when compared to the average instructor in the city.

We also appreciate that they offer free theory training in combination with any of their courses.

Furthermore, they also offer courses for individuals who want to start a career as a driving instructor. It is composed of three qualifying processes.

The cost starts at £305, which is significantly more affordable compared to other providers in the area.

Unfortunately, we received inconsistent reports about the attitude of their instructors. Some of them came across as rude and dismissive to their students.

Despite this, we still recommend their team as most of the students were delighted with the service that they received.
