5 Best Manicure Spots in Manchester for a Nail Refresh

  • Hygiene Standards: We looked closely at how each salon cleans and sterilises its tools between clients. Clinics must use medical-grade machines or single-use equipment to ensure your safety.
  • Product Quality: Our team evaluated the specific polish brands and builder gels used during the treatments. Salons scoring highest rely on non-toxic formulas that protect your natural nail health.
  • Booking Flexibility: We checked the availability of different appointment lengths and weekend operating hours. It’s crucial that you can easily fit a nail session into a busy work schedule.
  • Treatment Longevity: We prioritised venues that offer durable finishes and solid guarantees against early chipping. You deserve a fresh set that holds up to daily wear and tear!

A visit to the local nail salon is my favourite little excuse to switch off and be pampered. Finding the best manicure in Manchester means getting nails that look gorgeous and survive real life.

I want more than a quick coat of polish and a rushed goodbye. Give me neat cuticles, glossy colour, and a chair I’m happy to sink into for a while!

Whether you fancy a speedy tidy-up or the full treat-yourself works, Manchester has plenty to choose from. I’ve narrowed down the spots worth booking when your nails are overdue for some proper attention.

How much does a manicure cost in Manchester?

An express file and polish usually costs £15 to £17. A basic manicure typically ranges from £22 to £35.

A gel manicure generally costs £25 to £40. BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) or hard gel treatments are around £40 to £55.

A full set of acrylics usually starts at £35. Prices can rise to £45 or more, depending on the salon and finish.

1. Janea Nails & Beauty

janea-nails-beauty

Website

Address: 15-17 Chapel Walks

Contact: 01613765648 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 AM – 7 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM

Janea Nails & Beauty has the polished city-centre feel I want when my hands require some attention.

Their dry European manicure focuses on neat cuticle prep, so everything looks that bit more refined before the colour even goes on.

For busy days, the 30-minute Express Gel is a handy little rescue mission. If I’m in full pamper mode, I’d book the longer Signature Gel Manicure for the more detailed cuticle work.

The Chapel Walks location is another win, especially if I’m already shopping or working nearby. I’m equally fond of the longer-wear gel option because chipped polish isn’t the accessory I’m after.

The catch is that gel removal costs an extra £7.50 before a fresh application. They’re closed on Sundays too, which slightly spoils the weekend beauty-date potential.

Pros

  • Dry European manicure with detailed cuticle prep
  • 30-minute Express Gel option available
  • Longer Signature Gel service for a more thorough finish
  • Convenient central Manchester location
  • Gel manicures geared towards longer wear

Cons

  • Gel removal costs an extra £7.50
  • Closed on Sundays

Consistent Quality and Convenient Appointments

I love this place! I’ve been coming here for pedicures for about 2 years, and when my nail tech moved away a year ago, it made sense to try this place first for my BIAB manicure. This is the first place I’ve ever used for nails that I’m not tied to one person; they’re all really good. You can always get appointments that are convenient for you, and if you have nail chips, they’ll get you in asap. Couldn’t recommend more

Welcoming Environment and Excellent Experience

I booked this salon for my wife to treat her to a deluxe pedicure and manicure. We were seen by Judy, who created a very welcoming and relaxing environment, good conversation and a generally lovely experience. It has been 3 days since getting them done, and they still look good as new! I would definitely recommend it and go back again.

2. DG Nails & Spa

dg-nails-spa

Website

Address: 863 Ashton New Rd

Contact: 07311466666 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM | Sunday, 11 AM – 5 PM

DG Nails & Spa feels like the kind of neighbourhood spot I’d book when I want something a little more fun than a basic nude.

They handle everything from classic polish to detailed nail art, so there’s plenty of room to play.

I like that the salon gets lots of praise for neat work and attention to detail. If I’m bringing in a specific design idea, that’s exactly the sort of thing I want to hear.

The Ashton New Road location is handy for getting there by public transport, and they’re open seven days a week. Sunday appointments are available too, which earns points for anyone squeezing pampering around a busy schedule.

The main catch is that DG Nails & Spa is currently cash only, so turning up card-in-hand won’t get you very far. Sunday hours are shorter as well, with the salon closing at 5 PM.

Pros

  • Wide choice from classic polish to detailed nail art
  • Frequently praised for neat work and attention to detail
  • Handy Ashton New Road location
  • Accessible by public transport
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Cash payments only
  • Shorter Sunday hours

Polite Service and Reasonable Pricing

I had gel polish with Henry, who was very polite, attentive, and asked me what colour and shape I wanted. Very thorough with manicures and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back again.

3. Townhouse Nail Salon, Manchester King Street

townhouse-nail-salon-manchester-king-street

Website

Address: 34 King Street

Contact: 447360543546 (WhatsApp)

Hours: Daily, 9 AM – 7 PM

Townhouse on King Street is where I’d head when I want my manicure to feel a little more polished in every sense.

Their Signature and Luxury Gel services come with a seven-day Flawless Finish Guarantee, which is reassuring when fresh nails are meant to stay fresh.

I like the extra attention to hygiene too, with tools either single-use or sterilised in a hospital-grade autoclave between clients. Their Super Gel Overlay is another tempting option if you want added reinforcement without going down the acrylic route.

The King Street location is brilliantly central, so it’s easy to slot a treatment into a shopping day. Being open every day from 9 AM to 7 PM makes booking less of a diary puzzle too.

The catch is that Townhouse doesn’t offer acrylics at all. Express Gel isn’t covered by the Flawless Finish Guarantee either, so that perk only comes with selected services.

Pros

  • Seven-day Flawless Finish Guarantee on selected gel services
  • Single-use or autoclave-sterilised tools
  • Super Gel Overlay available for added reinforcement
  • Central King Street location
  • Open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM

Cons

  • No traditional acrylic services
  • Express Gel isn’t covered by the Flawless Finish Guarantee

Professional Staff and Quality Products

I go here regularly for gel and BIAB manicures and pedicures. It’s my fave salon as all the staff are lovely, well trained and professional. They use quality products that look great and last. Today I had a mani-pedi combined and am super happy with both. Seren was my manicure technician and even though she is new, did a wonderful job! I don’t know the name of the pedicure technician, but that was perfect too 🙂 Thanks, ladies; happy to recommend.

Relaxing Experience and Perfect Pedicure

It was my first visit.  I opted for the signature pedicure with Mouna. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable from the start. She’s friendly and also very professional. My tired old feet feel fantastic, and the pedicure was immaculate!

After this, I had the signature manicure with Sepideh, who was so professional, friendly and genuinely sweet. She did an amazing job with my short stubby nails; a perfect finish. I love this salon!

4. Nataya Beauty

nataya-beauty

Website

Address: First Floor, Pleer House, 1 Fennel St

Contact: 0161 390 0121 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM – 7 PM | Saturday, 9:30 AM – 5 PM

Nataya Beauty is the sort of place I’d pick when I want a polished finish without my natural nails feeling overworked. Their CND Shellac service skips buffing and roughing up the nail, which makes the whole process feel a little gentler.

I’m a sucker for choice, so the 200-plus shades are a definite win when I’m trying to match a mood, outfit, or last-minute dinner plan.

The LED-cured finish is handy because you can leave without hovering your hands like they’re made of glass. They now offer a broader menu too, including BIAB and acrylic-style services.

There’s even free gel removal with reapplication, as long as your previous set was done at Nataya.

The downside is that nail art is booked as an add-on rather than a standalone treatment. They’re closed on Sundays as well, which limits weekend pampering a bit.

Pros

  • CND Shellac with no natural-nail buffing
  • Over 200 shades to choose from
  • Free gel removal with reapplication when the previous set was done there
  • LED-cured finish for quicker drying
  • BIAB and acrylic-style services available

Cons

  • Nail art is offered as an add-on rather than a standalone treatment
  • Closed on Sundays

Wonderful Manicure and Lovely Conversation

Wow! What a lovely lady and a really wonderful experience. Thank you for such a lovely manicure with Shellac. I couldn’t be more delighted. We had a lovely conversation with brilliant background music, and my nails are beautiful. Super easy to find, just above Starbucks, door with buzzer to the right. Up the spiral staircase to the 1st floor. Easy to book online and brilliant communication. Highly recommended!

Unique Nail Art and Welcoming Salon

Love visiting Nataya’s salon to get my shellac manicure. Her nail art ideas are so unique. Nataya is lovely and always makes you feel welcome and at ease. She helped me get over my reluctance to try waxing, and I’m now a regular. Her salon awards are well deserved.

5. Beauty and Bubbles

beauty-and-bubbles

Website

Address: 47 Dale Street, Northern Quarter

Contact: 0161 228 3375 | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 10 AM–8 PM; Friday, 10 AM–7 PM; Saturday, 10 AM–5 PM; Sunday, 11 AM–4 PM

Beauty and Bubbles is exactly the sort of Northern Quarter spot I’d pick when I want my manicure to feel like a proper treat.

A complimentary glass of fizz with your nail service certainly makes the appointment feel less like maintenance and more like me-time.

Their menu includes CND Shellac and BIAB treatments, with products from recognised nail brands such as CND and The Gel Bottle. I like that there’s enough choice to keep things classic or go for something a little more polished and structured.

They’re open seven days a week, which makes fitting in an appointment surprisingly painless. The Dale Street location is handy too if you’re already mooching around the city centre.

The main drawback is the lack of dedicated customer parking, so driving in can mean paying for a nearby space. Sunday hours are shorter as well, with the salon closing at 4 PM.

Pros

  • Complimentary glass of fizz with nail treatments
  • CND Shellac and BIAB services available
  • Uses recognised brands such as CND and The Gel Bottle
  • Open seven days a week
  • Handy Northern Quarter location

Cons

  • No dedicated customer parking
  • Shorter Sunday hours
