5 Best Motorcycle Dealers in Manchester to Ride Away Happy

Inventory Variety: We looked for a solid mix of bikes across styles and budgets. More choice means less settling for something nearly right.

Workshop Facilities: We checked for proper on-site servicing and testing. A good workshop keeps your bike happy long after the showroom shine wears off.

Pricing Transparency: We favoured dealers that are upfront about total costs and servicing rates. Nobody likes a nasty surprise at checkout.

Customer Support: We considered aftercare, finance options, and warranties. The best dealers make buying easy and stick around after you’ve got the keys.

I’ve relied on bike hires for commuting long enough, and I’m ready for something that’s actually mine. The tricky bit is finding the best motorcycle dealer in Manchester without getting steamrolled by a sales pitch.

I want a showroom that listens, prices things fairly, and won’t disappear once the keys change hands. Good servicing and proper after-sales support matter just as much as the shiny bike on display.

Whether you’re upgrading your commute or chasing a bit more fun on the open road, the right dealer makes all the difference. I’ve checked out Manchester’s options to see where your money’s best spent.

How much does it cost to visit a motorcycle dealer in Manchester?

Used commuter and 125cc bikes typically cost around £1,500 to £3,800. They’re often the most affordable option for everyday riding.

Middleweight and everyday motorcycles usually sit between £4,000 and £8,000. Premium new sport and adventure bikes can cost £10,000 to £22,000 or more.

You may need to budget another £100 to £500 for admin and on-the-road (OTR) fees. These can vary between dealers.

1. Manchester Harley-Davidson

Address: 820 Chester Road, Stretford
Contact: 0161 553 0504
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Manchester Harley-Davidson is an easy one to get excited about if you’ve been eyeing a proper Harley.

The showroom covers new and used bikes, with plenty of cruisers, tourers, and adventure models to size up in person.

I like that you can book a test ride before committing, especially when you’re spending serious money. There’s a full authorised workshop on-site too, which makes servicing and MOTs much less of a faff.

The apparel and accessories section is worth a browse while you’re there. When I stopped by, the staff were helpful without making me feel like I had to buy something immediately.

The downside is that it’s very Harley-focused, so there’s little scope for comparing other brands under one roof. Some of the larger touring models can sail well past £20,000, so this definitely isn’t the budget end of the market.

Pros

  • Wide range of new and used Harley-Davidson bikes
  • Test rides available
  • Authorised workshop with servicing and MOTs
  • Helpful, low-pressure staff
  • Apparel and accessories available on-site

Cons

  • Limited if you want to compare different motorcycle brands
  • Premium touring models can cost well over £20,000

Customer Reviews

Excellent, Fast Parts Delivery Service

Needed a part for my bike in a hurry. Manchester were the only dealer with it in stock. They posted it there n then to Glasgow, received the next morning. Bike sorted. Great service; will use again, and a special thanks to Deano. Cheers, Jigger

Friendly Staff and Great Dealership Layout

First visit to the dealership, very well laid out with lots of room for social distancing. Very friendly and helpful staff with a welcoming smile and hello. Nice stock of bikes, including 2nd hand. Great choice of merchandise and 3 for 2 on dealer t-shirts. A big thank you to Debbie on merchandise, who was really helpful finding the right sizes for us, and nothing was too much trouble for her. Thanks very much, Andrew and Diane Jackson from Shipley. 😎👍

2. Youles Motorcycles Manchester

Website
Address: 186 Bury New Road
Contact: 0161 708 2638 | 0161 708 2620
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM | Sunday, 11 AM – 4 PM

Youles Motorcycles Manchester feels like a practical pick if you want plenty of choice without the hard sell. Their workshop handles multiple makes, with factory-trained technicians covering servicing, diagnostics, and MOTs.

I particularly like the fixed-price servicing, because nobody enjoys playing guess-the-bill at collection time.

Courtesy bikes may be available too, which is handy when your own ride’s temporarily out of action.

The Manchester branch deals with both sales and aftercare, so you’re not being passed around once you’ve bought the bike. That makes it especially appealing if you want one place for the whole ownership journey.

The catch is that courtesy bikes depend on availability, so they’re not guaranteed.

Warranty cover comes with eligibility rules and exclusions too, so it’s worth reading the small print before assuming every repair will be covered.

Pros

  • Multi-brand workshop for various makes and models
  • Fixed-price servicing
  • Factory-trained technicians
  • MOT testing available
  • Courtesy bikes may be available
  • Sales and aftercare handled under one roof

Cons

  • Courtesy bikes are subject to availability
  • Warranty cover has eligibility rules and exclusions

Customer Reviews

Enthusiastic Staff and Excellent Customer Service

One of the better motorcycle dealers ( the Triumph part anyway). Enthusiastic, friendly, well-informed staff. Nice ‘while you wait’ area with free coffee or soft drinks if in for the workshops. Certainly a big step up from the majority of dealers that appear to have regressed to 1970’s levels of customer service. When it comes to it,  I will almost certainly be purchasing another motorcycle from this dealer.

Unmatched Customer Service and Experience

I have dealt with a lot of motorcycle dealers in my time being a motorcyclist of some 40+ years. I feel so strongly regarding Youles Motorcycles that I felt I had to write a review regarding their customer service. I personally would not deal with any other motorcycle dealer.

3. HUNTS MOTORCYCLES

hunts-motorcycles

Website
Address: 255 & 263 Kingsway, Burnage
Contact: 0161-432 1303
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Hunts Motorcycles feels like one of those proper old-school Manchester bike shops, just with much newer machinery in the window.

As an authorised Yamaha and Suzuki dealer, it’s a strong stop if either badge is already on your shortlist.

There’s a decent spread of new and used bikes, plus servicing and MOT support under the same roof. I like that setup because buying the bike is only half the relationship once regular maintenance kicks in.

The used stock can be especially tempting if you’re trying to stretch your budget a bit further. There’s enough variety to make browsing worthwhile without turning the place into a full-on mega-showroom maze.

The catch is that Hunts closes on Sundays, which isn’t ideal for weekend-only shoppers.

Some used bikes may be stored off-site too, so it’s worth ringing ahead before making the trip.

Pros

  • Authorised Yamaha and Suzuki dealer
  • Good mix of new and used motorcycles
  • Servicing and MOT support available
  • Established Manchester dealership
  • Used options for more budget-conscious buyers

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • Some used bikes may be stored off-site, so calling ahead is sensible

Customer Reviews

Superb Online Motorcycle Purchase Experience

I have bought many motorcycles online and over the internet, and I have to say Hunts Honda were superb, very easy transaction and my new motorcycle is as described and better and I am really pleased. Also, their arrangements around Covid-19 were good and respected, and I would advise anyone to use this dealer. John, it was a pleasure; thank you

Great Condition Bike and Easy Purchase

Just purchased a Triumph Scrambler from Hunts after seeing it online. John agreed a price with full service, MOT, and delivery. Took a chance without seeing the bike, and it was delivered from Manchester to Portsmouth. Bike in showroom condition and even put a new tyre on the front. Excellent dealer and a credit to the motorcycle industry.

4. Manchester Motorcycle Centre

Address: 19 Memorial Rd, Walkden, Worsley
Contact: 0161 790 2024 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday, 10 AM – 5:30 PM | Wednesday, 10 AM – 4:30 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 2 PM

Manchester Motorcycle Centre feels like a good shout if you want plenty to browse without trekking across half of Greater Manchester. With more than 25 years in the trade, they’ve got a solid handle on both new and used bikes.

The 2,000-square-foot showroom packs in road bikes, off-road machines, scooters, clothing, and accessories.

I like that servicing, repairs, and MOTs are handled on-site too, so there’s less faffing about once you’ve bought.

Finance is available on selected bikes, which can make stepping up to your own ride a bit more manageable. Their competitive pricing gives budget-conscious shoppers another reason to have a proper look.

The downside is that they’re closed on Sundays and finish earlier on Wednesdays.

Bikes are local collection only too, which is less handy if you’re buying from farther afield.

Pros

  • Over 25 years of motorcycle retail experience
  • Large 2,000-square-foot showroom
  • Good mix of road, off-road, and used bikes
  • Clothing and accessories available
  • On-site servicing, repairs, and MOTs
  • Finance available on selected bikes

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • Earlier closing time on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Motorcycles are collection only

Customer Review

Excellent Customer Service Start to Finish

What an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish, both Paul and Karl couldn’t have been more helpful and I’m made up with both the Husky 701 and the dealer I chose to give my hard earned to 👌👌👌 …

5. Robinsons of Rochdale

robinsons-of-rochdale

Website
Address: Central Garage, Water Street, Rochdale, Lancashire
Contact: Phone: 01706 716650 | Whatsapp: 441706 716650 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM | Sunday, 10 AM – 3 PM

Robinsons of Rochdale is a handy option if you want a broad choice without sticking to one marque. Being part of the MotoGB network gives them useful access to bikes, parts, and manufacturer support.

Their workshop handles all makes and models, with manufacturer-trained technicians looking after servicing and repairs. Performance-minded riders can dig into upgrades from brands like Akrapovic, Yoshimura, and R&G too.

I like that they’ll arrange out-of-hours private viewings by appointment, which is useful if your week’s already rammed. It makes the buying process feel a bit less rigid than the usual showroom dash.

The downside is that delivery typically takes around three to seven working days, so it’s not an instant handover.

And test rides need a licence, National Insurance number, and your own riding gear, which makes spur-of-the-moment rides less likely.

Pros

  • Part of the MotoGB network
  • Services all makes and models
  • Manufacturer-trained technicians
  • Good access to performance parts and upgrades
  • Out-of-hours private viewings available by appointment
  • Strong parts sourcing support

Cons

  • Delivery typically takes 3–7 working days
  • Test rides require a licence, National Insurance number, and your own riding gear

Customer Review

Friendly Dealer with Experienced Mechanics

Very friendly dealer. Nice customer service. I am convinced that the mechanics from the workshop have a lot of experience, and they fixed my motorcycle. Thank you to all the crew, and I recommend the Robinsons of Rochdale.
