The 5 Best Pilates Studios in Manchester to Transform Your Core and Confidence

  • Qualifications – We focused on Pilates instructors and studios that hold solid certifications and possess hands-on experience.
  • Class design – We considered how well coaches tailor their sessions to fit each person’s goals, fitness levels, and any injuries or limitations.
  • Availability and scheduling – We highlighted studios and instructors that make it easy to book, reschedule, or adjust sessions when needed.
  • Instructor engagement – We examined how engaged and hands-on instructors are—things like correcting forms, providing helpful cues, and being present during class go a long way.
  • Price – We selected options that provide fair pricing relative to the quality of the program, facilities, and overall experience.

Do you know what? I recently realised I’m incredibly easy to influence. Take my spontaneous trip to a luxury spa, for example, all because my socials were flooded with people being pampered. Did I need it? No. Did I particularly want it? Not really. But did I want to try it anyway? Absolutely.

Now, I’ve got a new fixation—hear me out, this one’s actually good for my body and my health. Pilates, it turns out, offers benefits that are just as flexible as the workouts themselves.

That’s why my team and I reviewed the best Pilates studios in Manchester. With their help, you can build core strength, improve flexibility, and support your overall wellbeing. Read on to find one that fits both your budget and your goals.

If you’re new to Pilates and want to dabble in different formats or switch between reformer and mat, then You Mind, Body & Soul Pilates is a good place to start. We like that they also offer barre, Wunda, and wellness programs that can help you balance and have a holistic experience.

The diversity and themes of their classes are a win. You can expect energising morning sessions, sculpting workouts, calming recovery programs, and postnatal-friendly options, so you can match your goals, physical, or mental needs with the right session.

That said, we’re glad that they have a user-friendly booking system, where you can see class types, schedules, and pricing. Plus, anyone can book sessions without committing to a membership.

It’s also worth noting that they have two locations, Whitefield and Prestwich, both of which have free parking. You’ll be able to pick one that’s more convenient to avoid getting caught up in their late arrival policy.

Lastly, their facilities and amenities left a spectacular impression on us. Think air-conditioned rooms, sanitation procedures, locker rooms, towels, and spacious reformer beds—it’s proper convenient!

Pros

  • Offers multiple Pilates styles
  • Has two studio locations
  • Clean facilities and practical amenities
  • No membership required
  • Quick and easy booking
  • Various programs and levels
  • Has free parking

Cons

  • Strict late policy

Challenging (in a good way) without being overwhelming

“The instructor Amber took time to check on everybody at the beginning of the class to make sure there were no injuries or other difficulties. The class was challenging (in a good way) without being overwhelming and I really felt like I’d had a great all round work out at the end. Great class, very enjoyable!”

We love how Bondi Pilates gives its clients proper reformer classes, given that they have multiple specialised formats, including beginner, stretch and flow, dynamic, barre, jumpboard, and prenatal/postnatal sessions. You get access to a blend of strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Big props to their Begin class, as it’s purposefully designed to introduce you to reformer Pilates through structured strength and body awareness. If this is your first taste of Pilates, you won’t feel out of place, and your body won’t be shocked into something strenuous and intense.

They also have dedicated classes that safely support pregnancy and rebuild core strength after birth without the risk of injury.

And it’s nice to see that their classes have a good balance of low-impact and high-energy sessions, from mobility-focused classes to more intense options like their Jumpboard workouts.

But we did note that their classes fill up quickly, and for some, you’ll be added to their waitlist.

Nonetheless, this just shows that there’s positive demand for their classes, especially with their clean and well-equipped studio, making it more appealing and welcoming.

Pros

  • Wide variety of reformer class styles
  • Great for beginners
  • Pregnancy and postpartum support
  • Mix of low-impact and high-energy sessions
  • Clean and well-equipped studio

Cons

  • Classes can fill up quickly

Beautiful and spacious studio

“Such a beautiful and spacious studio, it has changing rooms and toilets too. I’ve been to quite a few classes and all the instructors are really good, they always provide variations to make it more challenging or if you have an injury. Would highly recommend, one of the best reformer Pilates studios in Manchester!”

You probably won’t be running away from Runway Pilates Manchester, especially for newcomers trying to access introductory classes. We found that their rates are affordable, like a 2-session + 30-minute personal intro deal for around £55, which is quite the steal.

As for the classes themselves, the studio offers multiple reformer-based formats tailored for different goals and energy levels, so you can rotate sessions and avoid repetitive workouts. They’ve got classes that focus on mobility, strength, alignment, and endurance.

Now, we did note how some clients felt like something was lacking after their group classes, particularly for personalised cues and instructions.

Their city-centre location is also a plus in our books, though. Since the studio sits on Dale Street in the Northern Quarter, it’s accessible for commuters, professionals, and residents to fit classes into busy schedules.

On top of that, if you work regular hours, you can book classes that are later in the night since they operate through evenings (at most 8 PM).

Pros

  • Specialises in reformer-based training
  • Convenient city-centre location
  • Accessible introductory pricing
  • Long daily hours

Cons

  • Limited personal cues in group classes

Accessibility is one of the things we like about Restart Reformer Pilates, given that they have around four studios in Central Manchester, such as Cheetham Hill and Deansgate. It’s easier to keep up with regular and consistent workouts if travelling to the studio isn’t a hassle.

The classes themselves revolve around reformer Pilates, which means instructors design sessions that prioritise controlled strength, posture improvement, and technique refinement. We can also see how their consistent coaching and structured progression help clients improve.

To match the structure of their class, we appreciate that their class timetables are easily available on their website, so checking them out and booking what fits for you is easy.

The catch? The variety of their class types and specialisations can feel a bit limited compared to other studios.

But hey, the variety of pricing options they offer doesn’t seem lacking at all. You can bag membership deals, drop-in classes, and class packs with the opportunity to choose between flexibility and long-term savings.

Pros

  • Multiple studio locations
  • Dedicated reformer-focused training
  • Convenient timetable and booking system
  • Flexible pricing options

Cons

  • Class types can feel more limited than others

Plenty of encouragement

“Recently went for the first time to try reformer pilates, it was a great experience with May, wasn’t sure what to expect, but she made me feel very comfortable with plenty of encouragement.

Would recommend anyone to have a go!!”

J Brooke, Google Review

The class was well-structured

“Just completed my first month of reformer pilates for beginners!!! The class was well-structured, and May was an incredible instructor—very understanding, encouraging, and knowledgeable. She made sure everyone felt comfortable while still getting a great workout. Highly recommend Cheetham Hill studio and May’s classes!.”

Right off the bat, RE: SCULPT Studios isn’t your typical Pilates studio. They stand out for offering hybrid classes blending cardio and reformer training, helping you build endurance while strengthening muscles at the same time.

Speaking of muscles, we love how they structure their class to target specific muscle groups like RE: Ignite for the lower body, RE: Active for the upper body, and RE: Sculpt for full-body contouring.

We also have to give them props for having the equipment to keep up with their high-intensity classes. They use specialised Maxformer beds, which are larger reformers that have increased resistance options and expanded movement range, to accommodate more challenging exercises.

On the flipside, since their classes are at a higher intensity, training can feel physically demanding during early sessions, which might not be the best for newcomers or if you have injuries or mobility issues.

Regardless, kudos to them for providing intentional and niche classes with an immersive studio atmosphere to complement the energy of the workouts.

Pros

  • Hybrid reformer and cardio training
  • Uses specialised Maxformer beds
  • Class types target specific muscle groups
  • Immersive studio atmosphere

Cons

  • No shower rooms
  • Doesn’t focus on low-intensity programs

It is always challenging but still fun

“Honestly the best classes around! Every instructor brings the energy, it is always challenging but still fun, with absolute bops on the playlists. Big plus that 80% of the time there are cute dogs to pet before class too! Highly recommend”

Anni Sailer, Google Review

Made me feel so comfortable and confident

“Really welcoming and a friendly bunch of staff! As a beginner I was super nervous about starting pilates especially maxformer but the instructors made me feel so comfortable and confident and took all the time they needed to make sure I was doing it right/getting the best out the class!
