Zouk Tea Bar & Grill in Manchester is owned by a team of brothers who share a passion for delicious food and is self-described as a ‘new generation’ of Indian and Pakistani eateries.
We’re quite impressed that this restaurant takes pride in offering healthier options. We think this is great for people who wish to taste authentic Indian cuisine without the calorie guilt.
In addition, their menu is comprehensive and fully halal-prepared, with an unrivalled selection of vegetarian options for those seeking meat-free cuisine. We also like that they include a variety of veggie curries and tiffin selections as well.
The meat fans in our team need not fear, as the extensive menu includes lamb, chicken, and a plethora of seafood options too!
As for the overall ambiance, they have an open kitchen to provide diners with a terrific atmosphere. We think this is a great touch that contributes to the general dining experience.
Furthermore, the decor is pleasant and modern, letting the colourful food take centre stage, and if the weather permits, guests can also enjoy the rare sunlight on the restaurant’s outside patio!
On Sundays, the restaurant takes a different approach, serving a typical Sunday roast with the option of ordering a whole roast lamb.
A downside to them is that there are claims of poor customer service. Despite their rave reviews, we think this is something that some customers may want to consider.
Overall, they’re an excellent option for vegans and vegetarians that want to try Indian cuisine.

Mowgli Street Food is a family-run restaurant that serves homemade foods to guests, including meals inspired by the owner’s childhood.
They were recently rated one of Manchester’s top restaurants by The Telegraph, BBC Good Food Guide, and The Manchester Evening News.
We’re pleased to find out through our surveys that they are well-known as one of the best locations to grab a curry in Manchester.
What initially impressed us was their extensive menu, specifically the chutney selection! Furthermore, they also have a few unconventional ideas like Himalayan cheese on toast.
We think this is a great option for their menu because they offer something different to the table.
In addition, they also have a great student discount of 10% off with a valid student card, or bring your drink! This makes them a great option for students in the area.
Moreover, we love that their online menu provides a comprehensive list of the allergens included in their food. We think this is a great way of going over their offerings beforehand.
A major downside to them is that it can be difficult to get a reservation with them, especially during peak hours and days.
Their location is quite near the Curry mile and is often visited by a lot of people, this can make getting a table quite difficult.
We recommend customers to call early or reserve during low seasons so that they can enjoy the full experience without the buzzing crowds.
Overall, this makes them a great choice for Indian cuisine and rare dishes that you may want to try.

- Difficult to get a reservation during peak hours
Bundobust is well-known for its vegetarian street cuisine and an assortment of local beers on keg and cask.
The restaurant includes a huge beer hall with a wide selection of craft beers, as well as a large, diverse menu of unique cuisine. Think Saag curry, Bhaji butties, okra fries, and more.
We love that the dishes are informal but delicious, with serving sizes ideal for trying a few different things throughout your visit.
If sharing is more your style, there are several combo trays available, including a vegan option suited for two complete with chutney, curries, and more.
In addition, it’s worth highlighting that Bundobust is also known for its welcoming atmosphere and personalised, high-quality service.
Their interiors are also Instagram-friendly, which makes them an excellent option for individuals and groups that love to take aesthetic photos of their night outs.
From our surveys, a lot of guests here are long-time customers that keep coming back for the food, the great atmosphere, and most of all its great customer service.
Bundobust is located near Gay Village, which makes them closer to the party spots around Manchester as well. The way we see it, this could also mean that they’re not the best place to have quiet and intimate dinners.
Even so, for what they offer, they’re the perfect choice for getting a post-drink dinner for both small and large groups.

This & That, a small hidden gem tucked away behind Trof NQ, is a family-run restaurant that’s really popular around Manchester. This small and simple restaurant has been open since the 1980s, making it one of the city’s longest-running staples.
With its long existence serving Mancunians, we definitely think it’s worth a spot in our list!
Their classic menu offers a large selection of curries, ranging from Biryani to Tikka meals. Every day has a varied menu, with a range of meat dishes and three vegetarian options.
We think that this is a good take on changing up their menus so that there’s always something new to look forward to.
Their interiors have long hardwood tables and simple decor allow for sociable dining while keeping the attention on the flavours. For us, this type of set up makes them good for large groups of people consisting of four and more.
In addition, all dishes are prepared from scratch using fresh, whole spices, and meats such as lamb, chicken, and fish are frequently featured throughout the week.
We’re just iffy about their portion sizes, as most customers we’ve talked to claimed that they could do more with their serving sizes. We think this is something to keep in mind when dining with them.
What keeps us positive about them is that they are on the more affordable side compared to other options.
All things considered, they’re still excellent overall, especially for those looking for a place that accepts large groups with dietary restrictions.
