Pros
- Over 25 years of experience
- Have various programs
- Can customise programs
Cons
- May be unresponsive
If you’re looking for a trainer with an established reputation, then you should seriously consider K9 Services+. We are impressed with the over 25 years of experience of their trainer.
Aside from this, they also offer their services to a wide area. Despite being based in Manchester, they provide their services all over the UK – which is a plus for us.
Given their experience, its trainers have been exposed to all types of dogs. This gives them knowledge in dealing with various types of breeds and personalities that allows them to conduct their lessons effectively.
Here, they have three programs. The first one is for puppies, where your little dog will be taught basic lessons such as toilet training, chewing and mouthing prevention, and lead walking.
The second one is obedience training. Through this, dogs are taught how to respond to the commands of their owner.
This will ensure that your dog is focused on your lead at all times. Most of the people who avail of this service are those who want to be more confident and safer with their dogs.
The third and last one deals with specific behavioural problems. If your dog is misbehaving, they will customise a program to address the specific issue.
Overall, we like that they have multiple programs for various needs. They will also take the time to assess you and your dog – which is a plus for us.
The only downside is that they can be unresponsive to calls and emails. Since they receive a high volume of customer communication, it would be best to be proactive with following up.

Pros

- Focuses on private training
- One-on-one training
- Various dog training services
Cons
- Operating hours unavailable
Manchester Dog Whisperer, ran by Martin Shea, is the place to go for expert dog training.
Martin is a qualified canine psychologist and dog trainer who understands dogs well so he’s able to train them well too.
We think he’s perfect for those who want their dogs privately trained because this is his focus. He specialises in home visits and one-on-one training.
What we like is how he also gives advice so that owner and pet can better their relationship, as well as an ongoing lifestyle plan that both can rely on.
The home dog training services he offers include Clicker Training, Puppy Training, Obedience Dog Training, and Dog Behaviour.
We like that training sessions are tailored to the dogs and their temperament, as well as the owner’s lifestyle.
In the end, his training sessions work and has helped improve and correct behaviours of many dogs. We highly recommend!

Pros
- Accessible location
- Good venue
- Trains both dog and owner
- Uses positive reinforcement
- Straightforward pricing
Cons
- Advanced booking is required
We like CB Dogs because of their accessible location. Since they are situated at Scout Hut, you will have no issues finding their establishment.
Once you are there, it would be hard to not notice their commendable space. Here, they have both an air-conditioned indoor area along with their outdoor area – making the place conducive to fun and learning for dogs.
Furthermore, we appreciate that they don’t only train the dogs. Instead, they improve your relationship with your dog.
Here, they focus more than just the behaviour of the dogs. They also ensure that the owners are on point when they handle their pets.
With this, we highly suggest first-time pet owners to drop by here. It would be like a crash course in good dog ownership.
We also appreciate that they use positive reinforcement during their sessions. This means that they will focus on rewarding the good behaviour of the dogs instead of punishing them for bad ones.
The training sessions are grouped according to the age of the dog. For example, puppies train for seven sessions at £120.
On the other hand, older dogs train for four weeks at £96. If you feel like they need more training after there, you may avail of the progression course for £90.
Overall, their great venue, positive teaching methods, and straightforward pricing are all impressive to us. Just keep in mind that you need to reserve your slot in advance as they are highly in demand.

Pros
- Wide range of services
- Patient in teaching the dogs
- Good venue
Cons
- Limited parking during peak hours
What makes Goody 4 Paws stand out is their wide range of services. Along with their training sessions, they also have pet boarding services.
This is great for dog owners who need help with supervising their dogs as they go about their busy day. On top of taking care of your dog, they can also train them while you are away.
As for the training method, we like that they are patient with the dogs. Their lessons are based on how fast the dog can grasp each one.
With this, you can be assured that each area of the program is absorbed by your dog. This is good news for dog owners who prefer the quality of teaching over the number of lessons.
Furthermore, we also commend their establishment. Here, they have flooring with thick rubbers and walls that are kind of joints – perfect for puppies or small dogs.
The space is also wide enough for your dogs to be able to run around. Despite this, your dog will still get the supervision that they need as the staff members keep a close eye on each one of them.
The only downside is that while their centre is easily accessible at Whitefield, it can be difficult to find parking slots here during peak hours. If you cannot avoid visiting during such time, it would be best to take public transportation.

Pros
- Good for busy owners
- Thoroughly assesses dogs
- Customises courses to fit dogs’ needs
- Checks in on dogs after the training has been completed
Cons
- In-demand services
- May be difficult to book classes
21st Century Dogs is a reliable companion when it comes to dog maintenance. We believe that people with a busy schedule will appreciate their service.
Apart from their dog training services, they also offer dog walking services. Here, they have a limit of five dogs per walk so that they can give full attention while allowing your pet to socialise as well.
But before this, they will take each dog individually first to identify its personality. Once that is done, they will find the best group of dogs that they can walk with.
We are impressed with this attention to detail. According to their clients, this is because the staff members here are genuine dog lovers – hence, they will treat your dog as if it’s their own.
This is evident even in their training services where the dog is also thoroughly assessed before starting the sessions with them. With this, the trainers can identify if they need to make changes to the course to cater to the dog’s specific needs.
But what sets them apart from the rest is their support even after the training has been done. Here, the trainers will encourage you to stay in touch after the completion of the lesson to assess the success of the sessions.
Not many dog training sessions in the area offer this service, so give them major points for this. However, it appears that many other dog owners feel the same – making the centre highly in demand.
With this, it would be best to book your slots in advance.

Pros
- Have patient trainers
- Good for complicated cases
- Offers one-on-one sessions
- Straightforward pricing
Cons
- May have a long waiting list
Dogs of Jupiter are out of this world when it comes to their patience towards dogs. They have been the go-to trainers for dogs who have behavioural issues.
For instance, they have a client with a rescue dog that can be considered a difficult case. This is because the dog has major trust issues.
Dealing with concerns like this isn’t easy and it would take a lot of sessions to see significant improvements. We like that the trainers at Dogs of Jupiter are up for the challenge and refuse to give up on anyone.
This being said, they are also straightforward and honest to the dog owners. This helps them set their expectations as to what can be achieved through training and what isn’t.
They can take on complicated cases because their training is exclusively one-on-one sessions. This means that your dog will have undivided attention when you enrol them here.
Furthermore, they also help dog owners become better handlers by involving them in training sessions as well. According to clients, the experience has been a good bonding activity for them.
They also have straightforward pricing that starts at £40 per hour. They also have a package for rescue dogs at £140.
Unfortunately, the only downside is that they can have a long waiting list. With this, we suggest that you book in advance so that your dog can get a spot in the queue right away.

Cons

He’s taken many different courses throughout the years and remains abreast of modern training research and methods.
We like his eagerness to help others and share everything he’s learned, and of course, help dog owners with difficulties with their furry friends.
We’re impressed by his experience with different breeds and ages of dogs as well as rescued canines from both Britain and overseas. He has a wide range of experiences that we think makes him a very capable trainer.
He employs tailored training techniques that are in accordance with the needs of both the dogs and owners.
If you’d like to gain a better understanding of your pets, he can surely help you with that even in just one session.

Pros
- Continuous Learning and Qualifications
- Specialization in Reactivity Cases and Rescue Dogs
- Positive Reinforcement and Force-Free Training
- Currently developing an online learning platform to add more inclusion and flexibility to services offered
Cons
- Relatively New Establishment
Forever Home Dog Training is a dog training centre founded by Gareth, a passionate dog lover with a background as a police officer. Gareth’s goal is to help dogs and their owners live happy and settled lives in their forever homes.
What’s great about them is Gareth’s commitment to continuous learning which is evident in his pursuit of an advanced canine behaviorist qualification and attendance at various courses on canine behavior, reactivity, body language, and puppy development. This dedication ensures that he stays up-to-date with the latest knowledge and techniques in dog training and behavior modification.
Aside from this, we also like that Forever Home Dog Training specializes in working with dogs exhibiting reactivity issues and providing support to owners of rescue dogs. This demonstrates Gareth’s understanding of the unique challenges these dogs may face and his ability to tailor training approaches to address their specific needs.
Unlike others, Gareth follows a methodology of positive reinforcement and force-free training.
This approach focuses on rewarding desired behaviors and avoiding the use of aversive techniques. Positive reinforcement not only creates a positive learning environment for dogs but also strengthens the bond between the dog and their owner.
Forever Home Dog Training was founded in 2021, which means it is a relatively new dog training centre compared to more established counterparts. While Gareth’s passion and dedication are evident, some customers may prefer more experienced dog training providers.
