Pros

  • Friendly and welcoming staff
  • Wide variety of menu options

Cons

  • Limited seating availability
  • Outdoor seating could be cleaner

The Lawn Club is an open-air cafe bar featuring wicker chairs, cuisine served on wooden boards, and an extensive drink menu.

Initially, what impressed us was that they’re ideal for after-work drinks, weekend socials, and special occasions.

The venue has an open-air lawn space in the summer with bookable huts, a BBQ, and seasonal beverage activations.

In the wintertime, the space is covered by a magnificent winter yurt decked out in twinkly lights and floral arrangements.

In addition, we also love that they offer endless brunch, 2-for-1 cocktails, a £10 lunch menu, unlimited wings Wednesday, and live music every Thursday and every weekend.

Moreover, they also have Sunday brunch parties with games, dancing, and shisha. We have to give it to them in terms of spreading positive vibes in their establishment.

There is also Karaoke, which we think is a nice touch to their overall services. However, we advise customers to secure their reservations to make sure they will be accommodated.

On the flip side, we do have to be transparent and note some of their notable downsides.

According to our surveys, their facilities need more upkeep. Also, it was mentioned in our interviews that their service can be slow.

In our honest opinion, we think that these downsides are due to their popularity around the area.

Since all their spaces can accommodate big groups, private parties, and events, we recommend customers to book with them in advance or visit outside peak hours to make the most of the experience.

Pros

  • Great food quality
  • Exceptional customer service

Cons

  • Limited outdoor seating
  • Pricier than average

Gino D’Acampo’s First Street Bar & Kitchen is a lively venue located within Manchester’s central INNSiDE hotel.

What we love most about them is that the area features a variety of seating options in addition to a colorful color palette, plant-heavy decor, and wooden accent pieces.

Furthermore, customers can choose from various seating options: sun-trap terrace, hip circular bar, or sizable restaurant fronted by plush scalloped chairs.

We think that all these elements elevate the dining experience with them.

For their menu options, you can expect Italian and Mediterranean-focused dishes and a la carte offerings.

When we surveyed their regulars, we noted that the top picks were the arancini in red pepper sauce and Loch Duart salmon salad.

That said, these dishes, being their regulars’ top picks, still speak volumes in terms of their food quality and, quite frankly, impressed us.

Seafood fans must try the pasta with mussels, clams, and calamari. Also, there are many vegetarian and vegan options which is another thing we love about them.

In addition to the excellent food, the restaurant is worth visiting for the helpful and cheerful personnel, whose pleasant and inviting demeanor lends the proceedings a relaxing feel.

On the downside, we’re a bit disappointed that their outdoor seating is quite limited.

Our research shows that their Al Fresco seats are usually in high demand. That said, we think it’s best for customers to visit outside peak hours or book a reservation through their website.

Even so, for what they offer, we recommend going to First Street Bar & Kitchen f you’re looking for something subtly different—and especially when you find Manchester’s scene to be a tad chaotic

Pros

  • Wide range of wine choices
  • Great food quality
  • Knowledgeable staff

Cons

  • Records of poor customer service
  • Moe expensive compared to others

Provence is a wine bar and coffee restaurant at The Avenue in Spinningfields that provides wine, coffee, all-day small foods, and grazing boards.

What initially impressed us about them is that their whole gig is providing wine choices based on the occasion rather than a specific flavor or region.

Celebrating a bachelorette party? Or going through a rough day? They got the right drink for you—and this is why we think they deserve an entry on our list.

Consequently, this makes them an ideal choice for those who want to explore more wine varieties and celebrate a specific event in their lives.

Furthermore, we think it’s notable that Provence provides a wide range of cuisine, from the counter to late-night cheese, charcuterie, and vegetable snacking boards.

This makes them ideal for after-work cocktails, dating nights, or simply catching up with friends.

That said, there are also some downsides to them that we have to mention. With all of these luxury products on their roster, we have to note that their pricing is higher compared to other retailers.

Furthermore, Provence hosts events weekly, so their space can quickly become congested, especially the outside seating as it is quite limited.

Despite these cons to them, we still think they’re an excellent choice overall if you’re willing to visit them during their busy hours.

Pros

  • Excellent customer service
  • Wide array of wine options
  • Great dining ambiance
  • Available to hire for private events

Cons

  • Small serving portions
  • Limited seating availability

The Beeswing is a lively dining and drinking establishment in the heart of Manchester.

Joe Maddock, the former manager of Pinchjo’s Tapas Pub in West Didsbury, and Anna Tutton, the former manager of Hatch’s acclaimed vin-yard wine bar, founded this independent bar, wine shop, and restaurant.

We definitely love how The Beeswing’s carefully crafted selection reflects Anna and Joe’s passion for wine.

Furthermore, their skilled team is always there to help customers find the perfect beverage, whether for consumption at the bar or to take home.

Another thing we like about them is that the Beeswing’s sun-drenched patio gives lovely views of the Kampus gardens, providing a calm escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Because of the comfortable couches that allow people to unwind, we believe it is the ideal place for after-work drinks, supper with friends, or weekend catch-ups.

Furthermore, The Beeswing is only a four-minute walk from Piccadilly train station which makes them easily accessible from all parts of the city.

On the other hand, they still have some drawbacks. One of which is the limited seating.

Some people we spoke with mentioned that getting a table can be tough if you don’t make an appointment. Fortunately, they offer online reservations through their website.

In addition, their dishes also have smaller portions compared to other restaurants within the city. However, the great reports about the quality of their meal, though, kept us optimistic about them.

So, if you want to kick back and relax with a fantastic view and outdoor seating, we think they’re still an excellent choice for intimate events with loved ones. Just make sure to book a table!

Pros

  • Accepts online bookings
  • Wide array of menu choices
  • Affordable
  • Dog-friendly bar

Cons

  • Records of poor customer service
  • Long wait times

The Oast House in Manchester’s Spinningfields district is a charming Kentish-style bar and cafe with a really homely and welcoming ambiance.

At first glance, The Oast House stands out from the surrounding buildings and creates a welcoming sanctuary with its timber interior and brickwork façade.

We love that their setup is perfect for those looking for al fresco dining because they surely don’t disappoint in that aspect.

Another thing we think customers should know is that they can expect a terrific assortment of dark and pale ales and high-quality beers like Sam Adams on tap.

Aside from this, their high-quality beer offerings are also accompanied by an impressive wine list, perfect for those who want something other than beer.

That said, their choices are quite impressive in terms of variety and overall quality.

Another noteworthy aspect of The Oast House is their deli counter, which serves platters of meats and cheeses as well as amazing BBQ and grill classics such as hanging kebabs that truly impress diners.

We love that all of this rich food pairs perfectly with their beer options, making for a fantastic and enjoyable evening.

As for their downsides, we have to note some claims of poor customer service and long wait times. From our surveys, customers we’ve talked to mentioned that it takes a long time before they get seated and served.

The way we see it, the overall experience with them can be a hit or miss depending on the day that you visit them.

Nonetheless we still think The Oast House and its vibrant atmosphere won’t disappoint visitors looking for a good time in Manchester.
