Pros

  • 100% gluten-free menu
  • Breakfast menu available all day

Cons

  • Food feels pricey for the portions
  • Extras added to the bill

The Remedy Kitchen is a restaurant known for their healthy food made with fresh ingredients. Their menu is actually naturally 100% gluten-free, which we like.

We’re a big fan of their breakfast menu being available all day. That way, you never have to worry about being too late for it.

It was a breeze getting a table. Plus, based on our surveys, their customer service is impressive.

We also like how they’re particular about their aesthetics.  From the cosy ambience of the entire restaurant to the beautiful presentation of each dish, there’s always something to look at and appreciate here.

Their breakfast menu is rather small, if we’re honest. Despite that, it boasts of some delicious meals like the fig & pistachio protein pancakes, a crowd favourite among our consumer survey respondents for its unique flavour.

As for the downsides, several respondents complained of upselling through extras being added to the bill. For example, an extra £8 would be added to the bill for two extra tomatoes, which is quite hefty.

We’re quite disappointed that the food feels a little pricey for the portions served.

Despite these issues, The Remedy Kitchen stands as a unique 100% gluten free restaurant that is worth experiencing and worth a spot on our list.

Pros

  • Delicious gluten-free options
  • Staff is helpful about dietary needs

Cons

  • Not a dedicated gluten-free restaurant
  • Not as many gluten-free options as we’d like

Evelyn’s Coffee Bar is not a dedicated gluten-free restaurant but it has options on its menu for it. We’re glad to see that their menu is annotated for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs for easy reference.

The bottom of their menu invites you to consult the staff about any other dietary concerns. We’re happy to report that their staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating when it comes to information on their ingredients and the like.

While they do not have a lone breakfast menu, they do have a brunch menu with gluten-free options. We recommend their Superfood Bowl, a gluten-free salad, with a beautiful assortment of fresh ingredients creating a colourful and flavourful experience.

We do think it’s a shame that there aren’t as many gluten-free options on the menu. Although in spite of this, some of our customer survey respondents found it to be just enough.

In spite of this, we were thoroughly impressed by their customer service and the quality of their food. Evelyn’s remains a strong option for your gluten-free breakfast or brunch, we think.

Pros

  • Most meals are adaptable to be gluten-free
  • Offers gluten-free bread when asked

Cons

  • Very few items on their menu are normally listed as gluten-free
  • Have to request for meals to be made gluten-free

Ezra & Gil is not explicitly a gluten-free restaurant but their adaptability lands them a spot on our list. Most of their options on their menu cater to vegan and vegetarian diets more, but their gluten-free menu is almost like a secret one.

While they have a few items marked as gluten-free, you can actually ask the staff as you order what items can be adapted for gluten-free needs. For example, almost all of their breads can be replaced with a gluten-free variant.

As for the ambience, we like how homey the place feels. It’s the perfect atmosphere for your morning cup of coffee.

Fitting, as they have a breakfast menu available from 7:30am to 5pm, and a decent number of the meals here are adaptable for gluten-free needs.

We find that Ezra & Gil caters well to allergen issues with their friendly and well-informed staff. Their meals feel reasonably priced for the portions served, and the taste does not suffer for any of the adaptability.

We do find it disappointing that their menu isn’t indicative of the adaptability of their meals, however. We’d prefer that they note the possibility of gluten-free bread, for example, on the menu itself.

If you ask one of their friendly staff members for their assistance, Ezra & Gil can turn its menu into a goldmine for those with gluten-free dietary restrictions.

Pros

  • Has its own gluten-free menu
  • Variety of choice for gluten-free customers

Cons

  • Limited time for breakfast menu
  • Service can be slow at times

Dishoom is a restaurant which serves modern Indian cuisine, all while taking care to address various dietary restrictions. Their menus are labelled for vegetarians, and they have separate menus altogether for vegans, the dairy intolerant, and the gluten intolerant.

While they have an entire menu dedicated to gluten-free meals, we’re looking specifically at the breakfast menu. This menu, alongside the regular breakfast menu, is only available until 11:45 AM.

We recommend their Sweet Uttapam Stack, covered in syrup and fresh berries. The Big Bombay is another great breakfast meal that you can enjoy without gluten.

Make sure you’re clear about which menu you’re ordering off, as these items are available on the regular menu as well, and for the same price!

The staff here also make sure to remind you which of their sauces and sides are gluten-free. We like how they seemed very well-informed about these sorts of dietary restrictions, and assure you that their gluten-free meals are prepared separately.

But, one of the clear downsides we found is the strict cutoff for the breakfast menu. We’d be wary of the time in case you have a breakfast booking here!

Another downside is that customer service can be a bit slow at times. For instance, it can take a little while to get your refill of that bottomless chai.

Nonetheless, with all the options available for dietary needs, Dishoom’s food quality and taste is in no way compromised.

Pros

  • 100% gluten-free menu
  • Food is cheap and delicious

Cons

  • Closed several days of the week
  • Only open from 10AM-4PM

Off The Wheaten Track is another restaurant where 100% of the menu is gluten-free. We think it’s an excellent menu choice, as it has no restrictions for someone with gluten allergies.

The restaurant is somewhat small, so that’s something to consider. We must admit, however, that it creates quite a cosy and homey atmosphere.

We found the staff to be very welcoming upon entering the restaurant. We appreciate how they continued to be kind and friendly throughout our entire stay at the restaurant.

Another great thing about Off The Wheaten Track is its all-day brunch menu. Though because it’s a deli you might also want to try some of their pies, sandwiches, and other pastries with your morning coffee.

We love that customers have a whole variety of choices at their fingertips with the menu here.

The food, particularly on the brunch menu, is quite cheap for what you get. You won’t go over £10 for a single meal here.

For breakfast, we love the Aubergine, Spiced Chickpea & Parsnip Rosti. The taste reminds us of a summer squash or zucchini: tender, mild, and sweet with a slight vegetal bitterness.

Finally, despite the guarantee that the menu is 100% gluten-free it is still encouraged that you inform the staff of any allergies when placing your order. We appreciate this and the clear knowledge the staff has when it comes to recommendations regarding dietary restrictions.

Pros

  • Variety of Menu Options
  • Luxurious Dining Experience
  • Sustainable and Local Sourcing

Cons

  • Operating hours unavailable
  • Complaints of timing issues and overpriced food

Mamucium offers a luxurious city-center dining experience, providing an innovative vision, contemporary interior design, and a fresh menu.

The ambiance, with exposed ceilings, soft lighting, and Manchester-inspired artwork, contributes to an exclusive and lavish atmosphere. We think many customers will have a pleasant time with just its ambiance!

We like how the restaurant is committed to sustainability through its core philosophy of S.O.L.E. (Sustainable, Organic, Local, and Ethical).

Mamucium takes pride in sourcing seasonal ingredients from local suppliers within a 100-mile radius, supporting local farmers and fisheries.

We also like their menu which boasts Yorkshire favorites with a luxury twist, including soup, fish, tender meat dishes, and puff pastry pies.

The emphasis on using fresh, seasonal produce contributes to the flavors, textures, and aromas of the Northern English countryside.

While we’ve heard many good things about them, some customers have complained that the food was overpriced and led to delays.

Others mention issues with the quality of food, describing it as bad and below average.

Overall, we think they’re worth trying!
