Pros

  • Specializes in packaging design
  • Works with various industries
  • Provides brand strategy
  • Offers free brand review
  • Known for transparency
  • Prices are on a project basis only

Cons

  • Some services are outsourced

Noramble is one of the packaging design agencies in Manchester that caught our attention because of their specialization – eye-catching and modern package designs!

From the moment we checked out their portfolio, we were immediately impressed by their sleek aesthetics that give personality to the brands.

They’re a new agency, though, having only been established in 2020. But we’re not fretting about their experience because we found that their creative team has plenty of experience in packaging design—including their founder, Daniel Poll!

But we were gutted to learn that they outsource some services if they don’t have a specialist, possibly since they’re not a big agency yet. Still, we love their honesty about this, and we like that they do most jobs in-house.

During our surveys, we found that Noramble isn’t picky with their client list. We think this earns them plus points for flexibility because they work with pretty much any industry, from food to fashion to household products.

Another thing worth noting is their offerings, including brand design and strategy to help clients reach their goals. This combination of services is good for those looking to set their brands apart from others, allowing the target audience to notice them more.

Price-wise, we like that their fair pricing aligns with their service quality—there’s no hard selling! And since they work on a project-by-project basis only, there’s no need to pay for package plans that include services you don’t need.

Furthermore, we think It’s wicked that they offer a free brand review service. An advantage of this is that small businesses can have a thorough consultation without spending a penny.

Finally, previous clients we talked with loved their designs and have seen a positive impact on their brands. Clients also loved their transparency and great communication throughout.

Pros

  • Open daily
  • Open since 1998
  • Has global locations
  • Award-winning agency
  • Known to work with big brands

Cons

  • Not ideal for small businesses

What we like about Equator Design is how well they’ve expanded their business. Now, they have seven global locations, which we believe speaks volumes about how successful they’ve become.

No wonder we were impressed by their expertise—after all, they opened in 1998! That’s over two decades in this evolving industry, which certainly shows their skills and knowledge.

It’s also brilliant that they’re an award-winning packaging design agency. In 2022, four of their designs won at the GDUSA (Graphic Design USA) Package Design Awards—and they won out of 2,750 entries!

Now, regarding their services, we love their extensive offerings, from strategy planning to reproduction. We also learned that their creative team creates visual storytelling that can match any brand—that’s good value for money, don’t you think?

Furthermore, previous clients we surveyed have complimented their design team for their impeccable work. We think it’s only proper to give Equator Design extra points for this, especially since we found their portfolio impressive.

We also appreciate how flexible they are with projects by accepting businesses in various industries. For us, that shows broad creativity!

However, we did notice that they mostly cater to big businesses, like Waitrose, Morrisons, and Heinz. So, their services may not be ideal for small businesses or those just starting out.

Lastly, we were thrilled to learn that Equator Design is a highly accessible packaging design agency in Manchester. Why? Well, they’re open seven days a week!

Pros

  • Focuses on packaging design
  • Caters to small businesses
  • Has great attention to detail
  • Known for transparency

Cons

  • Has a small team

One of our picks is Remedy Design, which specializes in brand and packaging design. That’s one of the things we actually like – because it means they can give their undivided attention to creating the best designs.

Another thing we were thrilled about is they cater to start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses. And from our surveys, we were impressed to find that they’re so helpful to small businesses and in helping them thrive through effective packaging design.

Furthermore, former clients particularly noted the design team’s exceptional attention to detail. Most also mentioned they were spot on with the brand’s original visions.

We also want to note that Remedy Design has been praised for meeting tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work. If you ask us, that reveals a great deal about the team’s commitment to their work.

As for their branding services, we were also impressed by their scope. They also design logos, brochures, signages, and websites, making them a one-stop shop.

The best thing we like about Remedy Design, however, is how they’ve been consistently praised for their transparency. From what we’ve learned, they’re good at sticking to the budget and being honest about the costs.

We must mention a minor setback, though –  they don’t exactly have a large team. Though we think this aspect doesn’t diminish their skills at all, it may be a problem for new clients if their calendar is full to the brim with projects.

5. BGN Agency

Pros

  • Specializes in packaging design
  • Offers a wide range of services
  • Offers complimentary brand audit
  • Known for creative ideas

Cons

  • Busy schedule; can be hard to book

Another packaging design agency in Manchester that caught our eye is BGN Agency. We were thrilled to learn they’re also a digital agency, which we think is really convenient for new businesses looking to make their mark.

BGN Agency also works on website design and development, which helps with rebranding or relaunching a brand. That’s apart from the new packaging design, of course.

From our research, we found that the design team was really creative with ideas and insights in their work with their clients. We’re happy to find that many actually praised them for their good approach and top-notch results.

In addition, we love how on-point their designs are. Upon checking their portfolio, we saw how well they articulated the client’s visions, making the packaging of the brand stand out.

We think it’s also nice that BGN Agency provides a complimentary brand audit. It’s quite useful for businesses to see their strengths and weaknesses, just so they have an idea of what to improve on—and all free of charge!

Overall, we were impressed to find BGN Agency seems to have many loyal clients—that’s a lot of trust earned!

With all those good things going, we weren’t surprised to find that BGN Agency is climbing the ladder to popularity, having been hired by big names like The Cosmopolitan Hotel, Howell’s School, and Green Pantry.

So, don’t be surprised to find them a little hard to book, especially if you’re on a limited timeframe.

Pros

  • Has won many awards
  • Offers a wide range of services
  • Praised for creativity
  • Versatile in various industries

Cons

  • Some projects are outsourced

Next on our list is Ahoy, which has been in business for 15 years. While we like their years of experience, that’s not what initially caught our eye – they’re actually highly recognized!

Ahoy is an award-winning branding agency in Manchester, and this is one of the reasons we trust their expertise. They picked up several RAR (Recommended Agency Register) Awards since opening, such as the Best in Brand Strategy and the Best Strategic Thinkers.

In addition, we were impressed to find that they were named the Best Small Digital Agency and the Best Content Team by the Pacific North Awards. To top it off, they scooped up the Best Digital Agency award from the Talk of Manchester.

Clearly, the awards and recognition echo their quality of work. Even when we spoke with their previous clients, Ahoy received high praise because of their neverending creative ideas, regardless of the type of packaging required.

Speaking of creative ideas, we love that they work with different industries, from food to home automation systems. In our opinion, their flexibility when working with various clients is impeccable.

Ahoy also offers a wide range of services, from branding to production. They even have digital marketing services to help brands reach more audiences, which we found particularly helpful after a new packaging design.

We’re probably just nitpicking here, but we were bummed that Ahoy outsources some projects. It’s not too much of a bother, though, since they only work with professionals and specialists and only do this when particular skill sets are needed.
