Pros

  • Serves authentic chinese dishes
  • Wide variety of offerings available
  • Affordable price range

Cons

  • Inconsistent service levels
  • Facilities could be better

Aplus Oriental Restaurant, the only ground-level Chinese gem in Manchester, is your ticket to a warm atmosphere and authentic Chinese cuisine.

These guys have an impressive array of specialized dishes, from Kung Bao to Cantonese, Szechuan, and even a touch of Thai. It’s like a culinary journey through the heart of China, all thanks to their team of skilled chefs.

But here’s the twist – when we chatted with their patrons, it was a mixed bag. Opinions about the food were all over the map.

While some raved about the dishes’ authenticity and flavors, others were left a bit unimpressed with the overall quality. It’s a classic case of food being a hit-or-miss, raising questions about consistency.

And that’s not all. We noted that the staff service also brought in mixed reviews. One customer highlighted the friendliness and warmth of the staff, even during the lunch rush.

But on the flip side, some felt like the service was on the chilly side, with a dash of inattentiveness.

However, we found a silver lining: affordability and accessibility. Their banquets come in at around £40 per person, and you get an array of dishes that’ll keep you full and content.

What’s more, we love that they’re open everyday, including holidays, and keep those doors swinging until the wee hours of the morning—perfect if you’ve got late-night munchies!

So, while Aplus Oriental Restaurant has its ups and downs, it’s worth a visit for a culinary journey through the flavors of China, served with a side of affordability and convenience.

Pros

  • Great ambiance
  • Excellent customer service
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • No parking nearby
  • Limited availability during peak hours

Teppanyaki in Chinatown Manchester isn’t your run-of-the-mill Japanese restaurant – it’s a Teppanyaki wonderland nestled in the heart of bustling Chinatown.

The star of the show? Teppanyaki-style cooking on a Hibachi grill that’s all about delivering that authentic experience.

Now, here’s the juicy stuff. When you walk in, you can’t help but notice the vibe. It has wooden floors, warm lighting, like a slice of Tokyo right here in Manchester!

And then there’s the buzz from the customers we surveyed. Rave reviews about the dishes flood in, and it’s no surprise. With Teppanyaki-style dining, you’ve got options – from a full spread of various dishes to picking a single plate.

Speaking of which, let’s talk about the prices. The set menus range from £28.00 to £50.00, covering your appetizer, entrees, and a sweet dessert to wrap things up.

If you’re leaning towards single orders, you’ll find options ranging from £15.95 to £21.95, with seafood on the slightly higher end.

Now, we just need to give you a heads up that they share the same grill for meats, seafood, and veggies. So if you have dietary preferences or allergies, let them know in advance.

Although we like that whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or have specific requests, they’re very accommodating!

We’re just quite disappointed about the parking – they don’t have it nearby, and the place is a tad small. So, reserving ahead is a smart move, considering how popular they can get.

Despite these quirks, if you’re all about table-side culinary performances and the anticipation of your food being cooked to perfection right in front of you, they’re a top-notch pick!

Pros

  • Excellent customer service
  • Wide range of options
  • Vegan and vegetarian options are available

Cons

  • Limited availability during peak hours
  • Records of inconsistent service levels

Bright and modern with a charming Thai-style canopy bar, Try Thai boasts an extensive cocktail menu to jazz up your dining experience.

Now, what’s the twist? The upper ground floor packs a fantastic bar, while the first floor is where the Thai magic happens.

Plus, Try Thai has a pleasant surprise in store – most customers we’ve chatted with found the prices to be pleasantly pocket-friendly.

Now, a little reality check – while the ambiance and decor are lovely, we found that the place fills up pretty fast. So, making a reservation is the savvy move to snag yourself a table.

As for the menu, we’re impressed to find everything from classic Pad Thai to fiery green curry and mouthwatering stir-fries. In addition, they’ve got your back with vegetarian and vegan options!

That said, some diners we spoke with have wished for an even more extensive list of regional specialties to really up the authenticity quotient.

And what’s the word on service? It’s a mixed bag, but mostly on the sunny side. The staff generally wins hearts with their friendly and attentive demeanor.

But, we found a hiccup here and there, with longer-than-ideal wait times during peak hours. We think it could be a testament to the place’s popularity, but hey, for us there’s always room for improvement.

All in all, Try Thai lives up to its reputation as a delightful Thai dining experience. So, whether you’re a Thai food lover or just up for some drinks at the bar, Try Thai is undoubtedly worth a try.

Pros

  • Wide range of options
  • Great quality dishes
  • Welcoming ambiance

Cons

  • Limited availability during peak hours
  • Prices are a bit higher compared to other establishments

Ban Di Bul is a Korean culinary gem in Manchester’s Chinatown, buzzing with flavorful delights.

The vibe? Warm, welcoming, and snug seating, but it can get a bit crowded during the peak hours. We hope they can add more space or even a reservation system for a smoother dining experience.

Now, here’s the real deal – their diverse menu. We found it’s a hit parade of diverse, authentic Korean offerings.

We love how classics like bulgogi and bibimbap rub shoulders with adventurous picks like hot pots and Korean BBQ! Moreover, plant-based diners are in for a treat with plenty of choices.

On the money front, we give Ban Di Bul extra points for reasonable pricing. They might not be the cheapest option, but from what we’ve seen, you get value for money with generous portions and top-quality ingredients.

However, we want to note that certain specialty dishes, especially those with fancy proteins, can dent your wallet.

As for their service levels, we appreciate that most of the patrons we’ve talked to raved about their friendly and attentive staff. On the flip side, there are some claims of longer wait times during the dinner rush.

Additionally, some customers wished to have better communication and recommendations, especially for Korean cuisine newcomers.

In a nutshell, we think that Ban Di Bul can be your go-to spot for a diverse, authentic Korean culinary adventure. Even with a few kinks, it promises a satisfying journey through Korean flavors and traditions.

Pros

  • Best for matcha and dessert lovers
  • Great ambiance
  • Wide range of options

Cons

  • Limited seating available
  • Service levels could be better

From what we’ve seen, Tsujiri has been a go-to spot for matcha lovers and dessert enthusiasts. Step inside, and you’re greeted with an elegant and calming atmosphere, perfect for savoring all things matcha!

We love how they’re located conveniently with easy access via public transport and nearby parking. So, Tsujiri is a breeze to reach, whether you’re a local or a visitor!

But be forewarned, during peak hours, we found it can get a tad crowded, making it slightly less accessible.

Customers we’ve spoken with praise the spotless and well-maintained space, and the comfy seating makes it an ideal setting for laid-back chats while enjoying matcha treats.

Another thing that impressed us was that most of their regulars are head over heels for the variety, from luscious matcha lattes to exquisite parfaits and delicate mochi.

In addition, they’ve got vegetarian and vegan options, which elevates their menu game in our books.

Furthermore, we noted that Tsujiri’s pricing is generally reasonable for the quality and uniqueness of their matcha-infused dishes. However, certain specialty items can be slightly expensive.

What we’re a bit iffy about is the overall service at Tsujiri. From what we’ve gathered, there have been a couple of hit-or-misses.

While many of their patrons compliment the friendly and helpful staff, a handful of diners suggest that more detailed menu explanations would be a sweet addition, especially for first-timers.

To sum it up, with a few areas for fine-tuning, Tsujiri continues to offer a one-of-a-kind and delightful matcha experience in the heart of Chinatown Manchester.
