San Carlo is where authentic modern Italy takes centre stage at Manchester Airport. Here, they offer the very best in true Italian dining.

We explored this restaurant’s menu, and we must say that the variety of dishes left us impressed. They have pasta, pizza, grill, and more — which can be hard to find along the terminals.

Considering that airport restaurants tend to be on the pricey side, we were pleased to find that an average meal at San Carlo starts at £20. This makes it a relatively affordable option compared to others in the area.

Customer service left us with mixed feelings. While the lady at the entrance seemed a bit inattentive to the queueing guests, the waiting staff who took our order and served our food were exceptional.

Along with this, the dishes arrived promptly and were delicious, particularly the tuna salad and lasagna.

One plus point for this restaurant is its early opening time of 4:00 am, catering to early travellers. But do keep in mind that it closes relatively early at 7:00 pm.

Nevertheless, its quick serving time is ideal for those catching their next flight. We highly recommend this for those who are looking for quality food in-between air travel.

Trattoria Milano at Manchester Airport boasts a menu that spans from classic pasta dishes to stone-baked pizzas and desserts. We like that they also include specialities like the American hot pizza and the calzone kiev.

On top of this, they also offer breakfast options, salads, soups, and paninis. With this, there is no doubt that the restaurant has a knack for catering to various tastes and preferences.

While most customers had positive experiences, we were a bit iffy that there were some inconsistencies in the taste of the food. A few diners encountered issues with the coffee, particularly the espresso — which lacked the desired strength and quality one would expect from a restaurant.

Nevertheless, considering the notorious pricing of airport restaurants, we were pleased to find that they offer breakfast options starting at £10. For us,  this provides an affordable and satisfying option to kickstart your day before your flight or leaving the airport.

When it comes to customer service, their team also shines. The staff, especially Isabelle, were excellent in providing attentive and friendly service that added a personal touch to the meal.

On the plus side, the restaurant’s 15 Minutes Pronto Menu caters to travellers in a hurry. We like these quick and delicious options since time is of the essence when you are at the airport.

Collage Restaurant offers a contemporary setting with fantastic airport views. This restaurant, located inside a hotel within the airport vicinity, provides a luxurious dining experience.

We believe that they are an ideal choice for those who are checked in or travellers seeking an elegant meal in-between flights.

They present a unique twist on the classic British Brasserie, offering a diverse menu that includes char-grilled steaks, juicy burgers, seafood delicacies, and healthy superfood salads.

While they open a bit later than some other airport eateries at 5:00 am, they make up for it with their breakfast buffet. For us, this is perfect for those who prefer a hearty meal before embarking on their journey.

Admittedly, they fall on the pricier side of airport dining, but we believe it is justified considering the posh ambience and delightful dining experience they offer.

This includes the restaurant’s excellent service. With staff members going above and beyond it is sure that diners will have a memorable dining experience.

According to those we have surveyed, their attentiveness also contributes to a quick serving time — making them a great fit for those with limited time before their flight.

With all of this in mind, we highly recommend this restaurant to those who are willing to spend a little extra for a premium dining experience.

Hangar offers well-made and quality food prepared by their in-house team of chefs. With a menu ranging from breakfast favourites like the “Sausage Butty” to the unique “Hangar Cheeseburger,” we like that they have a wide selection of dishes for customers before they take off.

The restaurant caters to various dietary needs and preferences, providing vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options — which is a big plus for us.

The friendly staff, including Phillip, ensures excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience.

Another good thing about them is their wheelchair accessibility. Here, they have ample floor space and a large entrance to accommodate wheelchair users, as well as travellers with large suitcases.

Considering that it’s located within an airport, we were surprised the food here is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. In fact, the average dining cost of only £10 — making it an excellent choice for travellers looking for a satisfying meal that won’t break the bank.

When it comes to customer service, those who have dined here are also happy. According to them, the team has both a positive attitude and prompt movements that makes for a pleasant and quick dining experience.

The only downside is that they open late and close early. This is why, if you are looking for a place to eat during their operation, we highly recommend giving them a try.

Upper Crust at Manchester Airport offers a choice of fresh baguettes, super sourdough, or multigrain sourdough, filled with delicious ingredients straight from the oven to ensure the freshest sandwiches.

We like that they also have Serrano ham and mozzarella, as well as pastrami and chicken breast.

Vegetarians will find cheese baguettes and other options like egg and cheese or tuna to suit their preferences. If you ask us, there is no doubt that they have a variety of tasty fillings to satisfy different tastes.

Sadly, there have been multiple instances of inconsistencies with the quality of food. One thing that stood out to us was a customer’s complaint that they received a tuna mayo baguette without mayonnaise.

On a more positive note, we like that they open bright and early at 4:00 am. This makes them a great option for early travellers looking for a quick and satisfying breakfast before their flights.

We think that the prices are relatively reasonable for an airport — with an average starting price of  £10. 

We also surveyed some of their previous customers and they appreciate the friendly staff. According to them the team always greet them with a smile, making their dining experience enjoyable.
